The Brisbane Broncos are in desperate need of a win, but they’ll have a tough time of it against the Melbourne Storm – even at Suncorp Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:55pm (AEST).

Brisbane finally snapped their post-lockdown losing streak a fortnight ago, but were brought back to earth in emphatic fashion last week after losing 48-0 to Wests Tigers. It was the nadir in what’s already been an awful season for the Broncos.

It doesn’t get any easier, however, with the perennially strong Melbourne Storm coming to town for a visit. They made it four wins on the trot last week with a 42-6 demolition of the Titans and will back themselves to give the Broncos a bath here as well.

The Storm have an almost comically good record against the Broncos, winning the last seven encounters in a row and 29 of the last 35 meetings. They haven’t lost to Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium since Round 2, 2009.

To me it looks like they are trying hard, but just don’t understand the basics of the game and can’t read the play - that’s the coaching staff I’m talking about!

Don’t doubt that he is our best choice for attack. But that’s not what we need to fix. Well not first anyhow. We need our more experienced players to be showing effort, and Milford is giving very little. Getting bowled through his legs for the first try wasn’t a great start either.

I wish a journal would ask him a technical question rather than garbage about how the fans feel. I want him to explain how they are setting up their defense and why they are being caught on the edges in the same way time and again. Are both centres coached to rush out every time?

They really should have hired Madge when they had the chance. They need a hard bastard to whip them into shape

To me it’s more than that. They have no defensive shape or plan. So Seibold and/or the defense coach can’t teach these boys a defensive structure. They are caught out on both edges with boring monotony.

I now reckon Milford could be a worse signing than Ben Hunt.
