Round 4 of the NRL season continues tonight with the all Queensland clash between the Brisbane Broncos and North Queensland Cowboys, coming to you from Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 8:00pm (AEDT).

The Broncos will be keen to get their second win of the season against the undefeated Cowboys, but they will have to do it the hard way. Already missing Reece Walsh and Payne Haas, Brisbane lost Brendan Piakura to an ankle injury in training. Adam Reynolds has been named but will be monitored during the week.

North Queensland have just one change. Zac Laybutt, a late scratching last week, is named at centre with Tom Chester dropping back to the reserves.

Prediction

These clashes have a history of being classics, and it should be the same here. Cowboys, in a thriller, by 1

I thought a few people were singing his praises way too soon and after only one good game.

Dearden looks like he can always go up a gear if required.

Thanks David. Pretty disappointed. Hate losing to Broncos especially when NSW players play like Reynolds and Drinkwater did tonight. Cowboys performances against Knights and Dragons were average so the loss was on the cards. Payten needs to get Clifford in sooner rather than later.

The Cowboys completion rate was poor and they were never going to win completing at just over 50%. They looked good in attack when they held onto the ball but couldn't sustain any pressure. The Cowboys will be banking on a quick bounce back when they play the Titans next Saturday.

Really glad Broncos got the win, still get some PTSD from Thurston field goals to ever be comfortable…

I’m probably a bit harsh because he got preferred over Hammer? I struggle to understand why Payten made that call other than Townsend’s lack of attacking flair or salary cap issues.

No Walsh, Haas or Piakura but the Broncos made a big statement tonight, dismantling the Cowboys 38-12. Adam Reynolds was the best player on the park with his kicking in the first half setting the scene. Carrigan was also tireless again with 170 metres gained and 37 tackles. These two points were vital for Brisbane ahead of their trip to AAMI Park next Thursday night

I was thinking he looked like Bob Katter. Perhaps Walsh is thinking of running for parliament post-NRL?

What a fumb rule, the two-man tackle. It was brought in to stop two players working together to overpower the ball carrier to steal the ball. That is never the case with one tackler around the legs or a tackler with their pinky finger touching a player's arm. When black and white rules are round holes and common sense is a square peg.

Well that was a very satisfying performance. Reyno and Pat played classics. Everyone else was good to very good. Barely noticed Haas and Walsh missing.
