Round 15 of the NRL Premiership concludes this afternoon when the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs take on the Wests Tigers at CommBank Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 4.05pm AEST.

With these two sides towards the bottom of the ladder, every win is crucial, even if it is just to avoid the wooden spoon at the end of the year. But, with new coaches at the helm of both teams, victory here would be just a bit more sweet.

Bulldogs fans could be forgiven for having tears in the eyes after last weekend’s match against the Eels. It wasn’t just the 34-4 scoreline to celebrate, it was the way that they did it.

They absorbed wave after wave of Eels attack early, and it seemed inevitable that the defence would crack. It didn’t and, from there, you could sense the confidence growing. The last try, in particular, going through several sets of hands, was pure class.

Chris Patolo will miss the match due to concussion protocols, so Kurtis Morrin will join the bench for his NRL debut. Raymond Faitala-Mariner has been named to start with Corey Waddell moving to the bench.

The Wests Tigers Round 14 wasn’t quite as memorable. The Sea Eagles won 30-4 in an average game of football, their win helped along by the send off of Brent Naden, who will spend an extended period on the sidelines.

It has been written about all season, but the Tigers halves just lack that creativity that you need to have to break down opposition defences. They don’t score enough points to win many games of football.

In a big boost though, Adam Doueihi makes his return from long term injury on the bench and Asu Kepaoa replaces Naden. Luciano Leilua has been granted a release to join the Cowboys, with Kelma Tuilagi taking his spot. Fa’amanu Brown joins the bench at the expense of Jock Madden.

Prediction

There’s an inherent risk in picking the Bulldogs to win back to back.

However, whilst they haven’t always won recently, they have been scoring more points.

That remains an Achilles Heel for the Tigers, which is why the Bulldogs will win.

:stoked: has been hay? I wouldn't even go back that far, Steve Price, Johnathan Thurston, SBW, Mason & El Masari years (just before or after the scandal that wasnt).. they were dominant!

A kindergarten kid would instinctively know that was stupid. That grown men came up with it is unforgivable. Even after Confession.

It looks like the Dogs are aiming to prove that Trent Barrett is not a head coach and Mick Potter is. Gus have a long chat with Mick and convince him to take the gig.

Plenty of problems still with the Tigers. They look clueless in attack but at least the return of Adam Doueihi gives fans some hope. However, if they keep conceding over 30 points per game, they can forget winning matches. They take on the Warriors in Auckland next round

They jump up to 13th place and will be full of confidence when they take on the Sharks in a fortnight

This isn't a silly idea HY. Except for the fact, and it is a fact, that the whopping majority of players aren't the smartest people on a football field. And that's why coaches and bumbling administrators get paid so much. And that's why 36-12 means that all the Tigers players, coaching staff, administrators, trainers, and other hangers on will all collect their cheques this week. And it's why coaches get sacrificed before anyone else. But keep the fire burning HY. You're on to a good thing.

If there was any doubt about the improvement in the Bulldogs, surely that has gone now. The Bulldogs showed an attacking flair to dismantle the Tigers this afternoon. Matt Burton was superb but he was supported by a pack who were too strong for the Tigers

I give up, it's not the players, it's not the front office or the world record number of coaches they've destroyed, it's those rediculous fluro orange jerseys.
