The Dolphins and Titans face off for the first time in their NRL history as both sides play their third Queensland derby of the 2023 NRL season. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 2pm (AEST).
Both sides are desperate for a victory following poor defensive outings the week before that led to heavy losses. While the Dolphins lose Kenny Bromwich, they welcome back Felise Kaufusi (suspension) and Jarrod Wallace (concussion) back into the side.
The Titans will need to shore up on their discipline and resilience after a poor outing against the Broncos. Klese Haas makes his first NRL appearance of 2023, while Jojo Fifita is back on the wing from injury. AJ Brimson is named in the reserves and could be a late inclusion prior to kick-off.
Prediction
Wayne Bennett has got his team up for derbies. While they need to improve on their discipline, the Titans are not a side that will defend their way to victory.
Dolphins by 4 in a high-scoring clash.

Do you know how long Swedes hold a grudge Arnab? They still dislike the Danes for a war fought 400 years ago and they are not keen on the Norwegians either. Viking spirit runs deep and strong!!! By the way Zlatan says hello :stoked:

2nd half comebacks can happen, but the Titans collapse is one of the worst since Parra lost to the Cowboys years ago. I heard in the call that the Titans got tackled in Redcliffe’s half 5 times in the 2nd half.

Well done Dolphins! There’s no such thing as a done deal! Amazing second half but I feel for the Titans supporters. There’s no way the Dolphins should have been able to comeback and win if only the Titans had played simple football. Titans need to go to the room of mirrors and take a bloody hard look!!!

Tell them I said Ødegaard is better than any Swede midfielder to exist in their history

Arnab’s takeaway segments 1. Katoa shines. That was the best game I’ve seen young Katoa play in his short NRL career. Bennett has made a coup by signing him. If the Panthers let Luai go in the future, they have made a massive mistake by not tying down Katoa last year 2. Wallace the difference. Bennett needed his bench to step up. And Jarrod Wallace did just that. Ran with commitment, offloaded and almost played as the second ball playing lock at times for the Phins Titans Only thing I can say is they have a serious problem with 20 point leads. They go into their shell and almost forget to stick to their principles. Doesn’t help when a senior half is having a brainfade so early into the second half. Soul searching required (once again) in Gold Coast

FULL TIME DOL 28 GLD 26 What an incredible fightback. At 26-0, I thought the Dolphins were in danger of conceding 50 points. But they just dug in, threw the football around and didn’t give away cheap penalties (until Kaufusi gave away one late in the second half). 28 unanswered points scored as the Dolphins win a thriller

Great stuff phins! But seriously, that might the stupidest second half of footy by any team in history!
