The in-form New Zealand Warriors play host to a Parramatta Eels side looking to rediscover their mojo. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:05pm (AEST).

The Warriors crushed the Newcastle Knights in Tamworth, to keep their hopes of an unlikely run to the finals alive. That would’ve sounded like insanity six weeks ago, yet the plucky Kiwi side has won four out of their last five to be on of the form sides in the NRL.

The one loss during that run was a narrow one at the hands of the pole-sitting Penrith Panthers, and they will fancy their chances against an Eels team woefully out of form.

Parramatta was left stunned after being held to zero by Souths in a 38-0 rout. Not only was it the first time the Eels have been duck-egged at their shiny new stadium, it was also unsurprisingly the Eels’ largest margin of defeat at the venue.

Brad Arthur’s side will be desperate to improve their form before the finals commence. However, the Warriors have played a methodical brand of football of late which could really trouble the Eels. Parra should be too good, but only just.

Not convinced Parra will be a threat in the semis. The Warriors can’t win when the penalty count is so lopsided - and not the first time this year when their opposition has received 2+ times more penalties? As for RTS, if he was playing in Sydney he would be well on par with Tedesco in terms of media hype and recognition.

Good, I expect they will suspend Brown and exonerate the Warrior.

Parra rightfully won the game but the Warriors dressing room right now should be far more jovial, they’re a proud side.

You can get suspended without being put on report; it all comes down to whether the MRC think it’s worth a charge. All being put on report does is guarantee the MRC will specifically look at the incident.

It looked like he had hold of the Eel's jumper as he pushed him away. Brown should've been at least penalised and binned for throwing punches at a player laying on the ground. He wasn't even put on report, avoiding the inevitable suspension.

Parra very lucky. Refs weren't on the Worriers side. You know what Easts supporters have to put up with every week.

The way the Warriors have improved by leaps and bounds since Todd Payton took over confirms what I’ve thought ever since the Eels’ dark period in 2011-2013. Stephen Kearney is a bad coach!

I don’t understand what happened; we were getting back to some fantastic form; then the minute they scored we fell right back into the old ways. Really disappointing.

Cheers DP. I’d love to see the Warriors do it; and while I rate them against the Sharks, they’ll have to beat the Raiders in a fortnight. That might be a tough challenge.

Wasn't sure about the refereeing. Personally, I thought the Eels were allowed to slow the play the ball more than the warriors and I wasn't sure about the sin binning. Looked to me in real time like he was grabbing the collar rather than throwing a serious punch. I then thought it might be a both way sin binning on account of Brown seeming to drop the knee on his head. Beyond that, the Eels' defense meant that the warriors mostly scored off miracle plays. However, they got in their own way in attack. To begin with, the Eels went through the warriors with ease and then it all kinda seemed to be a bit of a struggle.

Don't get me wrong Ben, i think they have a team of quality players entering a premiership window. But there are three teams above them that are way ahead.

Ok I am not an NRL industry employee or beneficiary, but : Parra are Year 10 school kids analogically, and they won’t mix it with years 11 or 12. The Warriors may have a systemic bias against them. I’ve watched a number of their games this year. In half they were dopes, the other half they weren’t . But I don’t think the the official decisions that adversely affected them reflected the run of play. Out of curiosity, does The Channel 9 free to air games air in NZ?

So many of their players have gone right off..RCG is a little kitten, Brownie loses his venom after 20 mins, Waqa just hasn’t come on, their wingers once the most feared in the league are brittle and the bench, just doesn’t compare to Penriths, Roosters , Storms or Raiders. Their chips look cashed..
