Round 11 of the NRL Premiership continues tonight when the Parramatta Eels host the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Commbank Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7.55pm AEST.

Magic Round wasn’t so magical for either of these sides, with both of them missing out on a chance to entrench themselves in the top 8. For the Sea Eagles, with Origin around the corner and Daly Cherry-Evans and Tom Trbojevic almost certainly called up, their situation is starting to look critical.

The Eels threatened a second half comeback against the Roosters last Sunday afternoon but the tri colours steadied for a 31-24 win.

As many feared, Parramatta looked flat after their win the previous week against the defending premiers. By the time they got their head in the Roosters game, it was too late. Fans will be expecting a much better effort tonight.

Brad Arthur has made a few changes with Marata Niukore returning from injury and pushing Bryce Cartwright out of the 17. Ryan Matterson starts at lock, with Nathan Brown going to the bench. Maika Sivo has been named in the reserves after recovering from his ACL injury.

If Parramatta was flat last weekend, the Sea Eagles were awful. Adam Reynolds put on a clinic and the Broncos underlined their premiership credentials with a 38-0 flogging.

Fault lies squarely with the Manly pack, who got completely outplayed by their Brisbane opponents, They now take on arguably the best pack in the competition and need a complete form reversal.

For the Sea Eagles, Ben Trbojevic is out with a shoulder injury and is replaced by Morgan Harper. Andrew Davey gets a start in the pack with Josh Schuster back from injury on the bench and Ethan Bullemor out of the side. Tom Trbojevic has been named despite obvious issues with his knee.

Prediction

Manly vs Parra clashes tend to bring the best out in both of these teams.

The 5 day turnaround is a concern for the Eels. However, at their best, the Eels should edge the Sea Eagles at the moment.

I think Parramatta will return to the winner’s circle.

Put your glasses on. I'm not only one writing that Manly discipline was awful. Especially Jake.

I think you can only see in Blue & Gold. I don’t know if you’d even be able to make out the Rose Colour, with those other two colours blocking your vision. Obviously from your comments, you can’t see the favouritism handed out to your Eels. Really, even with 9-2 penalties & 2 six agains to zero against Manly. You think Parramatta weren’t favoured & would have won that game without the hand outs? Tell You You’re Dreaming! I guess what with so many others also saying the same things about the Eels hand ups . You only must be correct & we’re all wrong ? Yeah Right…

Seems like Parramatta are the Golden Haired Boys , this season. Only won one of the games against the Titans, with special treatment from the referee. Had 6-2 Penalties against Penrith, which certainly helped them get home . Now 9-2 versus Manly. No doubt that that won the game for them . If in those 3 games the decisions & penalty counts went against them. They’d be looking pretty sad right now.

Sorry old boy, take your rose coloured glasses off. Jake was the worst offender. Deserved every ping he got and should've been more. Manly discipline was non-existent. That's what cost them.

While Manly fans point at a lopsided penalty count and the unlucky high shot penalty which led to an EELS victory, they fail to acknowledge the constant offside (never getting onside) and 2nd, sometimes 3rd efforts pushing tackled Eels back down to slow the play the ball, not to mention the farcicle Moses Sin binning which led to two Manly tries, penalty yes, sin bin ridiculous, while later a Manly player actually tackled a Eels player without the ball, but somehow stayed on the field??? I think it was Magic a week late! Manly's One eyed fan talk is about as negative as it gets... Truth is they turned in a solid performance, tough, and tussles all game, they also deserved every penalty and maybe a few more as well.

They’ll have lost five of six this time next week. There’s nothing left in the glass.

If this game was off the back of three wins from four, then sure, it's a good effort. But it's now four from five the other way, and at that point you just have to get the job done. The fact they didn't, and gave up a double-digit lead while doing it, means this is just as bad, if not worse, than the other losses.

If you think Manly were the only side infringing in the ruck in a close game like that then you’re definitely having yourself on

No, that wasn't the problem. Manly's constant offside and laying on tackled players is why they got pinged so many times. Bad luck for Turbo. Hope he's OK.

Of course you're right Rob. That's not in question. My problem is that there is a systemic problem with officiating from the top and our game deserves better.
