Foley was in the middle of his runup to take the kick when he blew the whistle.

Lost in translation: Infuriating French trait Bernard Foley needed to know and will never forget

Surely, on current form, Ryan Matterson must be in with a chance.

Origin teams: How they'll line up - late changes as final teams announced

Jordan Rankin isn’t in the 30 and therefore ineligible. Moving Matterson means losing one of the most damaging forwards. Cartwright at centre is as bad Jake at 5/8. Can’t see any nepotism. After 17 players are selected and injuries accounted for, the remaining squad besides Arthur are forwards.

'I always believed': Payten's faith repaid as Cowboys show they're real deal by shooting down Eels

True, I use the helipad.

More concerning is the number of people with blinkers on.

No Kerry, I’m not Nigel.

I can watch a replay though. 25 seconds in it is clear that Hutchison’s arm collects Brown’s right leg. All this rubbish about Brown leaping into the air and coming down knees first is just that. Sure he could have taken more care or pulled up a fraction sooner but it certainly was not a deliberate lead with the knees.

Tony, sorry that your English is a bit deficient. I did not say he wasn’t guilty. I did say it was not deliberate. Big difference.

I didn’t write anything remotely as you suggest. Put the specs back on and have another read. My point is that it was not deliberate and also avoidable.

I’ve watched it. Unlike yourself, my eyesight is just fine. From the head on angle it is perfectly obvious. The rear shot, impossible to tell. Anyway, I’ve more important tasks to complete today rather than argue the toss. Have a nice day.

Just view the video. “Wow” doesn’t mean a thing.

Humans are involved. The referee doesn’t always see everything. It works both ways. Sometimes players get punished for doing nothing wrong. All this furore because nothing happened immediately with the Dylan Brown incident. Nothing happened at all with Jordan Rapana’s hit on Kaylan Ponga either but nobody mentions that one. You could go on and on forever.

Brown has been dealt with and copped three weeks in the stands. Unfortunate for Hutchison but hardly unfair. If one cares to look at the replay a bit closer, especially the head on view it clear that Hutchison’s right arm knocked Brown’s right leg from under him as he dived over. That’s what caused the fall and the knee in the wrong spot. You can argue all day as to whether he could have pulled out sooner and in hindsight he could have. Certainly not deliberate or foul play.

Do we really want a four hour game where every play has to be scrutinised in case there was indiscretion somewhere.

He has a tidy pair of hands for a big lump as well.

Skelton, Pocock off the Wallabies bench a handful at World Cup

True that. Sexton wouldn’t have improved the lineout problems. Itoje is a beast.

England absolutely humiliate Ireland in phenomenal display in London

That’s pretty well it. Our inability to protect our own ball was the highlight. Quite often our forwards were too slow to the breakdown or not even there. That last try was a disgrace. Savea simply bent over and picked the ball up while Genia watched with his gob wide open. All the other points raised are just fluff around the edges.

Now the dust has settled, what really went wrong?
