Round 15 kicks off in the city of Wollongong as the St George Illawarra Dragons host 2021 runners up South Sydney Rabbitohs at WIN Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7.50pm AEST.

This is a massive fixture between two sides who are battling to strengthen their position up the ladder and end the round in the top eight of the ladder.

The Dragons will be low on confidence following a thrashing at the hands of the Cowboys (31-12) in Townsville last Friday. Alongside a monumental performance required by skipper Ben Hunt once again, the Dragons will hope the Illawarra faithful can provide a hostile atmosphere for the Rabbitohs boys in what is expected to be a windy night in Wollongong. Andrew McCullough will be playing his 300th NRL game as the stalwart has been named on the bench.

The Rabbitohs will be wanting to go back to back away victories after a comprehensive 30-16 victory against the Titans in Gold Coast last week. The boys from Redfern will welcome back the inclusion of Blake Taafe on the bench, however, superstar fullback Latrell Mitchell has been ruled out of the clash as he heads into a possible Origin selection with zero match fitness after his rehab in America. The Rabbitohs are currently sitting on 7th and can overtake the Eels should they triumph in Wollongong.

Prediction

Ben Hunt has done an incredible job leading the average roster in the Dragons as they’re still in the hunt for finals. However, this bubble may burst at some stage and it could start against the Rabbitohs. If Hunt can carry the Dragons with his superb kicking game and utilise the windy conditions well, then the Dragons are in with a chance. However, the creativity of Kody Nikorima at fullback alongside the halves pairing of Cody Walker and Lachlan Ilias are set to run the show and provide a Rabbitohs victory.

I think Des is a good fit for Manly. And probably only Manly. Once a Sea Eagle; always a Sea Eagle in the heart.

100% agree with you on making the team better and not around a one person team. Look at what Peyton's doing with The Cows so theyre not Jason Taumalolo-centred, theyre top 4 locked and edging top 3. Agree too that the centres are weak, sad that Moses Suli is carving up at the dragons. And yes, a lot of salary on Turbo, but you can see the results and return for investment, for me I dont rate DCE for the amount of money hes been paid in the past. I like Hasler, even as a player.. you rate him though as a coach?

Yeah but I'd be losing to the unthinkable: dragons make the 8. Imagine the humiliation and shame I'll carry with me knowing that awful fact.

Souths are all over the place - one night they are decent - the next night very ordinary. A nightmare to tip. They miss uncle Wayne I suspect - and Reynolds.

Yeah - but its a bit of fun doing it. Just did this exercise last night to see where the Raiders might finish if they won every game between now and the last round - apart from the games against Penrith and the Storm. They could finish 7th if every result I predicted materialised but this relies on getting right results of all other games of course. My predictions were immediately blown by the Dragons beating Souths last night! One game in!

Losing a carton of craft beer is way better than winning one

Pretty much nonsense to predict the final positions based on perfect tipping this round and the next ten including for/against when you can't even get the first game right.

If those damn dragons make the 8, I lose a bet and a carton of craft beer. Enough of this winning nonsense, Dragons. It’s nearly July: the season of the restricted windpipe. Short, stuttering breaths, dragons. Breathe faster, dragons.

Just to name a few things: attack based around Turbo, but he rarely plays. They should build a team without him. Centres are no good. Not enough mongrel like old Mardi Gras Roberts up front. Lot of salary on DCE, Jurbo, Turbo - the first two are good players, but Turbo is always injured. But good young guys coming through. Maybe 24 or 25 will be huge.

If Broncos win tomorrow then they’re a possibility of winning the premiership

What an absolute shambles you would have looked tonight as reigning premiers.

Where do think it went wrong with Manly?
