Two teams looking to get back on the winners list go head-to-head as Wests Tigers take on the Brisbane Broncos at Leichhardt Oval. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:55pm (AEST).

As has become customary over the years, it’s more frustrating inconsistency for Tigers fans as their club yo-yos from being competitive and gallant one week to miserably sloppy the next. That said, their last month has been decent – with two wins and two close losses to contenders in Penrith and Souths.

The Broncos, on the other hand, finally got a win on the board after a lengthy losing streak that had their massive fanbase baying for blood. Still, they’ll need more than a win every here and there to keep the supporters satisfied and a loss here would be hugely disappointing.

Since becoming a joint venture, the Tigers have an appalling record against the Broncos – winning just six of 28 lifetime meetings. While Wests did prevail in last year’s sole meeting, they’ve won consecutive matches against the Broncos just once ever.

False alarm ! Apparently Oates injury confirmed today was "a large haematoma and a deep gash in his leg", not a compound fractured femur. Should be back in 3 weeks. Even the Broncos doctor is obviously struggling !

Agreed. They should spend the rest of the season working on resilience, and fixing the defensive issues. A better attack will grow from there. Feels like Seibold has the cart before the horse.

15 players out might be explain the issues in attack, except for the fact that our first choice play makers, Croft and Milford, are hapless and they were on the park. Nothing excuses the issues in defence, the whole squad, whoever comes in, should know the basics there, how to slide, putting the shoulder in. That’s a coaching problem.

To be fair to the Broncos, they are coming up against the most dominant and ferocious rugby league machine ever created, in the Wests Tigers. If they were up against any other team they’d be in with a chance.

Walters should be given a shot. The positives are I think he’d bring a more consultative approach, he’d make some hard decisions about underperforming players and he brings a certain aura with him that might invigorate the playing group. The stuff with the executive ... that’s not insurmountable. Clearly was dumped by the Panthers and brought back, he’s going ok

He tries hard, he makes no mistakes and misses few tackles, but he’s lost some zip from being used as an 80 minute player too often.

Did you score untouched then as well?

When you get gifted tries by bombs not being contested, arm tackles on the goal line, drop kicks providing an untouched run to the line and dropped ball providing another untouched passage over the strip it’s hard not to look like champion material. Credit to Wests that they kept the foot down and didn’t sink to the Broncos’ level once the game was won.

And further to that, great credit to the Tigers. They were there, they kicked, chased, backed up and tackled with meaning. They still had to be in position to get through, around and over the lackluster Broncos defense. Well done. Luke Brookes may want to practice the first receiver role coming from the bench because it might be the Benji and Billy show for a while.

there is a lot of call to remove the coach. But if that happened, who would be willing and currently in a position to replace him? As much as Kevin Walters would be the type of person to take the role before this capitulation, does he have the experience to lift these players back up again? And would he be able to walk into that club knowing he wasn’t wanted in the first instance? And would there be animosity with Walters from those who shunned him for Seibold? And if Seibold goes, what happens to those who hired him – and then fired him? Who chose the length of the Seibold deal? Did the board suggest it or were they mesmerised by Seilbold – a rookie coach? Either way, it certainly does not read well. What of the corporate dollars?

The Broncos carried on as though they won the GF after beating the hapless Dogs. Alas their "winning run" has come to an end.

Never seen a team with so much talent put in so many half-arsed performances in a season. If this were boxing, there'd be an investigation by now...
