The Wests Tigers play host to the South Sydney Rabbitohs, who look to return to winning ways at Bankwest. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:50pm (AEST).

Lottoland was an appropriate place for the Tigers to stage an improbable comeback last week against Manly, reeling in a 14-point deficit in the final nine minutes.

The win relieved some of the pressure mounting on Wests coach Michael Maguire, after a week in which his stock had crashed following reports of leaked honesty sessions and loss of the support of his players.

Souths backed up their disposals of Parramatta and Manly with a gallant six-point defeat to the Melbourne Storm. Despite the loss, coach Wayne Bennett will have liked plenty of what he saw from his improving squad.

The Tigers’ spectacular comeback masked some real deficiencies. Wests were nearly full strength, yet looked dead and buried on the 70-minute mark against a Sea Eagles team crippled by injury.

In their last six games, the Tigers have conceded 32, 30, 38, 28, 44 and 26.

Unless Maguire’s charges have learned how to defend in the past week, the Bunnies should have far too many points.

I was going to suggest Anandale, but no one wants to see that

I really think this game highlighted the issues with the Tigers at the moment and its not the coach. Its the players and execution and their defense. The game plan was right on the money, attack Souths right edge and they managed several overlaps. If the Foxx was on that left wing or passes hit players in motion instead of behind them I think they get a few more tries. The other is their defense and Mcguire has been ruthless in dropping anyone who doesn't live up to his defensive standards. They are still a way off in that department but what else can the coach do. The forwards did their job well as they've been doing all year. Unfortunately the loss of Grant will be an issue. Liddle is good but Grant makes a difference.

I was just thinking how Souths scored a try off the back of a blatant forward pass from Cook tonight. I wonder if they’ll be blowing up about the result?

I don’t know about that Coen Hess against the Panthers to win the game was pretty awful in my books.

Benji probably could have got it but for that brain fade at the end.

Yep, that was a shocker and we have to improve heaps, I'm really disappointed as I thought that we were getting better but its the same old same old as we will have to improve 100% to make any impact going forward for the finals!

If the Tigers can expose their right side defense like that imagine what the other top 8 teams are going to do to it. Tigers missed a couple of tries because of their poor passing.

Their bench has done a good over the past month. With Tatola out, Knight started, and with it, one less experienced forward from the bench.

Terrible tactical decision by Maguire to put Liddle on at dummy half. Grant was owning the defence and you could see the momentum disappear. Nothing against Liddle but things became disorganised and Only Souths mistakes kept it interesting. Coach not reading the state of the game.

Souths just got out of that: saved by the Benji.

I have loved watching the Benji Tigers play for the last 15years but only when when they’re not playing my team. They certainly give you great entertainment.

Souths have a decent six in the pack but we lack go forward when Burgess is off.

Exactly. It worked last week but this week Grant looked confused and kept trying to come in to play hooker. Whole attack looked confused. Liddle gets his chance full time next year.

Congratulations Steven & South's - 2 points is 2 points, but, I think you'll need to do better, if if you are to feature strongly, in the finals. Well played, Tigers. As an neutral, I enjoyed that.

That was pretty entertaining... bad luck tigers, well done bunnies! My 5 year old told me that there was no way a bunny was beating a tiger. Once again proves the youth know nothing!
