Did the Indigenous All Stars deserve a penalty try for this take-down of the Fox?

Would Josh Addo-Carr have made it to the ball before Kalyn Ponga?

I know mate and I am being pedantic on the matter just for fun really. The truth is that the song used at the time changes very little to what was actually done by successive Australian governments, and even the attitudes of successive generations. The Flora and Fauna is something I see brought up a lot "we were classed as animals etc". ATSI people were never classed as flora and fauna, this is a myth brought about due to the practice of having departments that handled flora and fauna (NSW parks etc) also handle Aboriginal affairs.

Only a slight timing difference on god save the queen, the voting populous on both would have what 80% overlap. The human is grasping and the fact we have to discuss is suggests they weren’t treated as such given there was a flora or fauna assessment. I had a bit more here but I don't want a smeatic argument on if we were technically not horrendous. Fact is our track record is terrible here and suggesting the Maori had s similar fact pattern is ridiculous. Also, and this isn’t you it’s the original poster, suggesting people should not worry about politics betrays Australia’s forced voting regime. If you don't agree with people thinking about politics you should leave this country and never return

Mushi Aboriginal people were always recognised as humans. It’s hard to put anyone to work and withhold their wages for “their own good” if they aren’t human. For a start I have never had to pay a horse. Aboriginal people were just not classed as citizens. It’s a common misconception. And, not to make too fine a point of it, this current anthem has only been in use as the official anthem since 1984, so technically the anthem covering the the vast majority of terrible misdeeds suffered by our First Nations peoples was indeed under God Save The King / Queen. And the answer is still no, not a penalty try. Further, Diablo, you are drawing an awfully long bow trying to link this to this faux outrage over not singing an anthem. Grow up.

I suppose it depends on if you see the commonwealth of Australia as a progression of British Rule or not. How about the anthem of their child abductors then? Or anthem of the nation that didn't count them as human?

I believe that tune would be "God Save The King / Queen".

A penalty try can be awarded when a referee considers a try would have been scored except for foul play. S6, (3), d

No. Too far out, too many other people in play. Correct decision for mine.

You do realise it’s 2020 , not 1788 ?

Yep thankfully the Maori team don't have those concerns given the anthem is also sung in their native tounge. But hey why don't those brown boys smile whilst dance and sing to the tune of their conquerors.

Wouldn't have made a difference to the final score anyway. Fox et al were simply outclassed on the day. Too focussed on politicising instead of winning ...

Yes. The guy 2 metres behind Addo Carr gets there as the ball goes over the dead ball. So he gets there with 2 metres to spare. And just on general principles anyway for such an obvious foul.

The bunkers explanation for not awarding a penalty try is incorrect. He doesn't have to be sure a try would be scored, just that he believes a try was likely without the interference. The Fox was try bound , just award the try and get on with it.
