nope it’s going the other way. You can only indoctrinate the kids, you can’t stop them growing up and contacting reality. And most people value hard work and freedom.

'Choose a better date': Cummins wants Australia Day moved as CA chief sledged for 'bizarre' trainwreck interview

The lefties won’t get behind any date. They hate Australia, its values and what it stands for. Say what you want about Australia’s drawbacks, but our system of government didn’t starve or execute 50 million of our own citizens in the 20th century.

And in the words of the immortal Jake the Muss, “too much bowling practice, not enough western civilization theory. “

BGS has won one rugby premiership in the last 30 years, if it cares about rugby it has a funny way of showing it.

Possession Rugby is on life support - and the stats from the World Cup prove it beyond doubt

I’m not a Kiwi, and I don’t like the All Blacks. Just one more diehard ex player and fan who now hardly watches the game.
Most rucks DON’T end in penalties which as far as I can see supports my argument not yours…

In that case you haven’t trained them correctly! If you can play 80 then you can carry an extra 20 kgs playing 50. Get back in the gym and down to kfc! The Bokke pack is playing about 200kgs too light by the sounds of it.

Except they are not a contest for possession. Pushing the other team off the ball is a contest for possession. Breaking up their scrum so you get the feed reversed is a contest for possession.
Getting a penalty for a meaningless scrum infringement that could have gone either way depending on where the ref was looking is a contest for a penalty. Perhaps you can’t see the subtle difference but it is there.

Imagine if every technical infringement in the lineout was called, and went to a penalty?

I can remember one of my first comments on here, so about 2018 was alone the lines of..

If I was coaching, I’d just carry all forwards on the bench and get them to put on muscle as they are only playing half a game, why waste training on unused aerobic capacity. Just run on a whole new pack 10 mins after halftime.

Everyone laughed at me. haha who’s laughing now?

That’s completely unfair to circuses…

As far as I can see no-one is running any part of RA at all.

'Always knew it would get really ugly': RA chief's strange admission as World Cup budget blow out revealed

I have ideas for that too! But one thing at a time. Make the ruck more continuous and that will decrease the one dimensional power athletes anyway.

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

I’m in full agreement, nothing makes you get rid of the ball faster than a boot on your fingers (insert elvis’s broken finger graphic here 😂 )
But I can only suggest things in the realm of the possible

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

Are you sure? It’s only a stoppage because someone is deliberately stopping play. You can’t help stoppages for out of play, knock ons (usually) or foul play, but imagine if a ruck functioned as it supposed to do with the ball actually able to come out BOTH sides!
Your forwards might have to have a bit more fitness instead of “pods” taking endless unlimited tackle league style hitups. I would not be sorry to see that go.

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

I think you would be amazed how quickly the ball is released and seen to be released under threat of a card. I can see forwards sticking their hands on their head Richie McCaw style while they lumber to their feet. Just kidding on that one, but the availability of quick turnover ball will change the composition of a lot of sides.

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

Only for the first game… it’s amazing what can be done when you have to. I never thought forwards could roll away from the tackle when that came in, but somehow they all seem to now…

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

Except no one ever releases the ball, it’s always a penalty, which when you think about it is a professional foul to slow the play and prevent quick turnover ball.
I’m sure there are unintended consequences but what would hopefully happen…
Forwards would need to commit to the rucks instead of cluttering up the backline.
Make the ruck an actual contest again, even league outlawed unlimited tackle as boring as bat– ages ago.
Encourage counter attack, which always seems to be very attractive rugby.
Get some stoppages out of the game.

Rugby’s descent into cynical play: Why neutral fans should back the All Blacks for the good of the game

I can fix all this with one rule change.

Tackled player must release the ball if the opposition has hands on it.
Penalty – yellow card.

Just think through the ramifications of actually getting “in play” turnovers back in the game.

Bulimba back then was both sides of the river, were Teneriffe is now. Right next to the Valley so not a hike if the oval was on the north side.

A few points
Centralizing a loss making operation isn’t going to make it magically turn a profit.
After seeing the 20 year decline of the WBs and the Eddie sage, who in their right mind would give up power to them?
RA acts like managers, not owners. Screwing the most out of the business for their fiefdoms. If you fired them all apart from the essentials who would notice? Does Elon like rugby?
You can run centralising programs like coaching, schools engagement, moving payers to benefit their development, RIGHT NOW. RA doesn’t need a referendum to tell them what needs to be done. It needs doers.
Stay long enough at any organisation and you will see it centralise and decentralize as organisational knowledge is lost and people repeat past mistakes. None of which actually do anything.
is it s or z?

It's time to stop treating the symptoms of Rugby Australia’s illness and get to the cause

Fair enough if he’s doing it to gain an unfair advantage, but the article doesn’t really make this clear or not.

Demon facing four-year ban after positive drug test during season as Carlton recruit faces court over illicit substance

The damage to society from prohibition is fast outstripping the benefit of trying to stop some people doing drugs. And mindless slogans don’t help either.

Look at this case. benefits to society, minimal. No one is going to stop doing that they are doing because of this.
Against. Some guy loses his livelyhood, we all pay extra tax to employ people doing essentially nothing and some drug lord gets rich and can bribe police and pollies.

That’s just silly, the Wallabies aren’t a cult, they are a sporting team. If you question the coach you should move to another country? Did you listen to yourself, what you wrote? 😂

COMMENT: Eddie must be axed if he can't beat Wales - or the game will be in deep trouble in Australia

I had a think about this, and came to the conclusion it is good thing.
You aren’t supposed to play the ball on the ground, so why does the person arriving first to pick up the ball have to fight you for it? And then have to get bashed by some slow prop to prove he’s worthy of keeping the ball?
Part of what’s making rugby boring to watch is almost all turnovers become penalties for holding the ball. Make the ball carrier release and make it contest for the ball, and we will see smaller loose forwards come back into the game to secure and chase ball.

Running a passive aggressive guilt trip as an argument isn’t going to convert anyone to your cause. As far as I can tell the best asset the NO vote has is the people pushing the YES vote. Might want to tone yourself down if you want to win converts, not talk down to them. Just a polite hint….
