Eagle-eyed fans have noticed Nathan Cleary taking a conversion during their preliminary final win over the Storm, much further in-field than he should have.
It's taken me a while to wake up but Penrith don't mind a little skullduggery in the game. Wayne Bennett pointed out their players giving Cleary a wall of protection when kicking and now this. Nathan may be the clean cut boy everyone likes but he'll do the sneaky stuff like many others.
If the ref allowed it to happen, you would not blame the player. Cam Smith would do it regularly. When was the last time the Fox played the ball within 2m of where he got tackled? That used to be a penalty but now it’s not. Noones blaming Addo Carr for sneaking the extra metres upfield. I think there’s just an overall jealousy about. All teams celebrate tries, and all teams knock opposition teams errors, yet only one team is arrogant. It’s jealousy.
Goes to a lack of Nathan Cleary’s Integrity as a player and a lack of control around what he does on the field by officials what happened to the touch judge holding the mark while the kicker sets up for the kick? Additionally why didn’t the bunker intervene and stop it?
The second option. Definitely the second option!
So this is the future of the NRL? The team that are best che@ts win! How long will the NRL and Rugby League fans continue to tolerate this brazen misconduct that is undermining the integrity of the game?

Which one? You might be thinking of the GF but we was corrected to bring it back to the sideline. That was only 1m though, not 6-7m like Cleary.

Jonathan Thurston did the same at Origin. Not new.

I guess the old adage of "cheaters never prosper" comes to mind.

He did. But the question is now how many times has he done it and not missed and did that effect the outcomes of previous matches?

Pretty sure Ivan, as a good father would, taught his boy never to cheat.
