The All Blacks are running red hot, and haven’t been challenged yet in this years edition of the Rugby Championship. Tonight, it will be Argentina who will be out to cause a major upset when the two sides clash at Trafalgar Park – join The Roar for live scores and a blog from 5:35pm AEST.

One look at the betting odds is indicative of what punters believe will be an extremely one-sided match-up.

These two sides have clashed 26 times, and the All Blacks have won every single one of those fixtures.

As $1.02 unbackable favourites, you would be brave to predict anything other than Steve Hansen’s men making it 27.

However, this is sport, and sport can sometimes do strange, strange things. Just ask the punter who casually dropped $32,000 on Roger Federer to beat John Millman at the US Open this week.

The Argies are entering this fixture on the back of a comprehensively solid 32-19 win over the Springboks. They have an enigmatic backline, and a forward pack that is always willing.

The scary thing for them is that they aren’t even the most in-form team heading into this fixture.

The All Blacks were simply stunning in their first two Bledisloe Cup encounters against a Wallabies side that had no answers for their suffocating and relentless style of play.

They’re averaging 39 points a game in this Rugby Championship, and will no doubt be keen to send that figure north this evening.

New Zealand have made seven changes to the side that flogged the Wallabies last start at Eden Park.

In the backs, Richie Mo’unga starts in place of Beauden Barrett who earns his rest. TJ Perenara comes into the side at halfback, while Nehe Milner-Skudder returns from a year-long absence in black.

In the forwards, Shannon Frizzell starts at 6, with Ardie Savea packing down on the opposite side at 7. Karl Tu’inkuafe starts at prop.

For Argentina, Martin Landajo returns at scrumhalf, whilst Jeronimo de la Fuenta replaces Bautista Ezcurra at inside-centre. Tomas Lezana starts at openside flanker in place of Pablo Matera.

Prediction
This game will be similar to performances of the past between these two.

The new combinations for the All Blacks will feel out the Pumas for 40 minutes, and it will be close-ish at halftime. Then, Hansen’s men will put their foot down and kick on with it after the break to win by plenty.

I think you need to practice your understanding of the English language SJL. And if you do, we might be able to have an actual debate about rugby, maybe even talk about life in general. Good luck mate!

You wish, Neutral. I know watching the ABs win annoys you no end since you are nothing but neutral. Just like your Irish, the Pumas are nowhere near as good as you think. This was an AB team missing ten of its starters (if you count Retallick) and still beat them by over twenty points. As for the ref, please grow up. You are getting tiresome.

Does every try have a foot on the sideline being checked after the linesman says the grounding was okay but to check the out? Amazing how in this instance the staff get it 100% correct through due care and diligence and as a result we get: 1. Objection to close scrutiny of a try being scored despite exactly that being required 2. A compkete lack of acknowledgement of the defenders effort without which a try would have been scored easily, without the need for scritiny. Shameful and embarrassing responses to some very high quality work from those responsible for putting these game on. Professionals at their best, and what do they get?

Argies staked out a new standard for themselves tonight. Impressive, and one that has all the hallmarks of solid new foundation stones put correctly in place. They're definately on the rise from here. They will be better next week for the run tonight, and I suspect they will be more than formidable against the Wallabies, and they'd have to be odds-on at home against them as well. Argies won't get the wooden spoon this year, that outcome will likely get determined tonight with AUS v RSA

Missed tackles, to many penalties, and a weak scrum . Too much to beat the ABs at home and any where.

Couple of good touches from Te Toiroa in the buildup to Goodhue's try TM. One bullet pass and then a nice pop.

Fafita did the same as Shannon last year, hopefully he doesn't stall like fafita has. Still with all the doors and poor direction from ten, a comfortable win. Just need a few bursts to beat any team

Which calls were 50/50? You saying the foot was not out? Specsavers for you I think.

Yeah, they need to clear that up. No way the defence should be expected to anticipate attackers jumping to take poor passes. No option for the ref under current rules but it needs sorting

Yes good effort Argie, some real talent through the side, some lovely plays of skill. Frizell was awesome for a first start, havent seen running from a 6 like that since Jerome. Perenara ran and supported well. Mo’unga was ok, distributed well but needs more time with the team on the field. Karl T is a welcome inclusion in the Blues next year. Way to go. B+ ABs, a bit disjointed at times and had a B team look to it in parts. But overall, Hansen will be pleased to get so much new player airtime out there.
