The WallabiesSpring Tour continues with a new-look team to battle Italy. Join The Roar for live coverage from 12am (AEDT).

The Wallabies are firm favourites to take the chocolates against the Azzurri despite fielding a new-look team from the side that pushed France to the limit last week.

Among the ins are debuting pair Mark Nawaqanitawase and Ben Donaldson, while Darcy Swain has been added to the starting 15 at the last minute following injury to Nick Frost.

I actually dont disagree re Noah playing not too badly. I just think it was a bit rough on a new blooded 10 to be put in that position ie < 5min . Maybe his personality is one that will shrug it off and be cool about it. Certainly it seems no one is blaming Donaldson for the loss which is good. In times gone past if it was cooper he'd be dropped for another year. Based on what I saw you couldnt realistically blame Noah either. He was steady as she goes. Cooper and kerevi are so far in front of everyone in aus rugby in their positions it is scary. Id love to see what Donadson and Edmed can do but I think the chance to do so pre WC is gone. I hope QC and Kerevi are well for the WC. I also agree that you can blame Jake gordon - that yellow was obvious and ridiculous. The mantra re discipline seems empty when you see a senior player do that. Two tries scored and confidence to italy. I have seen people defending his play once he came back on, seriously , he owed the team two tries. He wasnt that good. He was faster and better after the half break as was the whole team but that doesnt absolve him of responsibilty for his stupid yellow card. Agree our hookers are a lottery at lineouts. A while ago I asked what happened to BPA. He was a reliable but not flashy performer and then he went to france. Not sure re his form but gee I dont think he could do worse could we ? Italy had the wood on our scrum too at times. Our back row got smashed off the ball and were slow to back up skelton with his charges. Skelton was bending the line so well and so consistently you could design your whole attack around him doing that ! Didnt look like we were prepared at all for that and it worked against us at times with penalties for holding. McReight was used by reds as a link player with the backs in attack and as a pilferer in defence. The link play seems to have disappeared at wallaby level. He is too small to be taking one out runs . Agree re Tom wright if ever there was a rocks and diamonds player he is it. The missed catch of the kick off set the tone for the evening. He pass to the ground with the game in balance was an appropriate way for him to finish it. Heart in mouth stuff. He will be defended ie the kick off that the jumper obstructed - but really . Kellaway, campbell and Koroibete are my back three at the moment . Campbell deserves some more time. Mark N was the best of the back three last night and so should get more opportunity to break through. So disappointed with that game. On the flip side there will be some very happy italian rugby fans out there. Good for them and their team.

In view of our defeat by the Italians and The Haemmors plan for the revival of the ANZAC , I suggest we go Desert Rats and select a side from England , Australia , SA , NZ , USA and the Free French to play the Italians at Sidi Barrandi . Then Sicily and Rome . This caper could catch on with back to the Boers , Māori wars , the Falklands , The War of the Roses and the various invasions of Ireland . The Haemmor is a bloody genius and the options unlimited .

Just finished watching that. We seemed to have no structure in attack or defence and an inability to do basics like throw the line out our take our own restarts. I’ve been an ardent defender of DR as I think we Australians have a habit of scapegoating our coaches but this is inexcusable. Why can’t these guys do the basics. Where is the wallabies DNA? If you want to employ a rotation policy you need to have a strong team pattern and be well drilled so that the new players understand their role. At the moment everyone looks lost at sea. We seem to be regressing

It’s tough being a Wallaby supporter. Sometimes wonder how some of the guys get selected. Certainly not elite level at all.

Gordon may have had his last tour in gold. In a game that was desperate for maturity he didn’t bring his to counter his other limitations. Poor leadership Poor forwards coaching, especially line out Poor resolve when the heat came early Poor substitution of Noah at the death.

Gordon is okay for Tahs, but this was a game that needed leadership from blokes without other talents. We need another 9 in the trio. Writing after the game, Tate’s pass keeps him on the bench. Still chuckin’ n hopin’. We need to develop another starting 9. Gordon had his chance and blew it. We needed Nick Farr Jones maturity from Gordon in this game, but we got a player in the bin.

And they'd know what went wrong. I just saw a guy throw to a location the jumper was at a second or two before. That could have gone wrong in a number of ways. You're right though, FF was hooked immediately so probably him

Yes ToG. Not enough leadership. Steel in the talk required, not U/15s enthusiasm. FF replaced one lineout too late, and LL put on one lineout too early. Shoulda played a couple without hookers.
