By The Roar / Editor

Israel Folau’s campaign to raise funds for his legal battle has left a trio of former Wallabies perplexed.

There was a disclaimer on the GOFUNDME page that says amongst other things any monies raised may or may not be used for legal fees despite the fund starting up for that particular reason ...... wtf sounds pretty scammy to me

Why is it disgusting? She makes a reasonable living certainly. But $200k is hardly exceptional.

and is also a 30 year old man. being manipulated by your old man at that age should not be the basis of an excuse if anything it should the opposite way. make your own way and do as you see right.

No I didn't. I'm atheist, I don't listen to proselytisers, I'm bored of the self righteous PC brigade and yes IF can be put in a companion bucket of self righteousness, But as I said above, I don't listen.

Watch out, the outrage police are in. How dare a man do something that could have absolutely no effect on anybody, should they just ignore it, which is their right! No one is forced to give Folau anything, but Mitchell has a queasy stomach...

I guess perhaps he could be being manipulated by his old man. If so, I do have some sympathy. Wouldn't be the first case of it. Folau is the golden goose though. He's being slaughtered for dinner.

At purchase price costs. Some of those are a while ago and, despite the market, will have seen significant appreciation.

Did his "list of transgressors destined for HELL" include greedy hypocrites? Didn't think so. If Rugby is the game they play in heaven, Izzy had better watch out for some of his ex-teammates if he is on the bottom of a maul. May have to use some of his surplus go fund me proceeds to cover his medical expenses.

Yes for someone who advocates living in this life is transitory, he sure is milking it for everything he can.

“But the five-acre property, that Folau reportedly paid A$2.1 million for back in 2015, is just the beginning of his portfolio. Folau's multi-million dollar contract was terminated last month by RA after the 30-year-old posted a photo to Instagram in April that said homosexuals were destined for hell unless they repented their sins. The Australian's Business Review reported Folau also owns seven other properties under his acquisitive Folau Investments Pty Ltd banner. In February 2017 Folau Investments paid A$960,000 for a one bedroom apartment in Little Bay Sydney, in late 2016 it was A$374,900 each or A$1.12 million for three separate parcels of land in Sydney's southwest, in 2015 Folau Investments Pty Ltd shelled out just over A$1m for a four-bedroom home in Sydney's Hills District, not far from where it had acquired another four bedroom home in 2010 for A$773,000 in 2010 and Folau's first property - also brought in 2010 - was a more modest four-bedroom for A$340,000 in Logan City, south of Brisbane, The Australian's Business Review reported. $5.8m all up.” ‘Please fund me, I only have 9 properties’ This makes those on his list look like saints. And hes asking Joe Public to fund an attack on the very sources that provided those properties. This is wrong on so many levels.

I’m pretty sure the whole “will defend to the death his right to do so” is based on state persecution anyway. Otherwise it will be “I defend his right to still get paid lots and do so” or similar.

The thing that gets me is his enormous wealth and owing a Lamborghini – a $500,000 car. What message does this send? While he eulogises from the pulpit to the downtrodden masses, his representation of the virtues of Jesus is a stark contradistinction. I’m mighty confused by all this. At the same time I absolutely support free speech and “will defend to the death his right to do so” I’m having a very hard time reconciling his wealth, and how he show-cases himself amongst his congregation. Something’s missing….

Maybe, but going go fund me is a new low for me. Folau is an embarrassment to himself, his family, the sport. For me, hes just gone on to his own list by creating a new item. Greed. A new low for human decency. Hows that for free speech?
