Wallabies' Bledisloe call-up reveals why he chose Australia over the All Blacks

By The Roar / Editor

Born and bred in Auckland, now in Dave Rennie’s Bledisloe Cup squad… but Irae Simone always wanted to play for the Wallabies.

Tooly, did you say Andrew Ready (they named an atomic bomb after him, called it FatMan) and Slow-Mo Tevita Kuridrani for the AB? Now I know you have been on the drink. LoL

Probably a couple of billion when it comes to Claudia Schiffer :silly:

Born and bred in NZ but wants to pay for another country. What an unpatriotic person and his family too. Good riddance.

I always wanted to be a Wallaby. I also wanted to hook up with Claudia Schiffer. One day I'll try and figure out how many million men would have to suddenly die for me to be a chance of either dream coming true.

So what's harder, making the All Blacks or fronting up and playing against them again and again and again? Irae has chosen a path that in some ways may be the more torturous on body and mind- go for it fella.

way harder (and more rewarding)to play for jacindas team of five million than some other bunch. let the wrong team with more nobs and a bitter economy run around on the sidelines.

Wasn't he a league player when he played junior footy in NZ?? I think playing union was a distant thought in NZ even when his dream was to wear, a yellow jersey. Congrats to him for achieving that dream. It's the same dream for junior union players in NZ except, the jersey colour is black.

My boys did high school in Sydney, when oldest son made first XV his coach asked him if he wanted to play for the Wallabies or the All Blacks - he replied, surely it would be easier to get in the Wallabies ( not a bad response for a 16 year old I thought)

With his parents being huge wallaby supporters and watching them at their peak, not any real wonder he opted for them. And fair play to him, he has his dream come true. But did I miss the part where he was offered an AB position? Given he isn’t contracted to NZRFU, I wouldn’t have thought it was even an option. So not exactly an either/or choice I would have thought.

No chance of ever being an AB . Only Tupou, Samu, Faingaa, Ready , Kuridrani and Lolisio would.

Good on him. If you want to play for the Wallabies, you deserve to be a Wallaby.
