I agree completely with you. They asked Jones, who denied it. RA made it clear that they wouldn’t ask JRFU and that that believed and backed Jones for the long term. This forced Jones to resign/leave on his accord . No pay out, Eddie gone, and a small win for RA after the disaster he was.

'Stinking nepotism', 'bygone era' or Japan's saviour? Why Eddie's mate has risked his rep on Wallaby turncoat

Unless RA were confident they could sack Jones without a payout (which I doubt they had the foresight to do) I think they let it play out. By not asking Japan it allowed Jones to say he wanted to leave. RA could then avoid a pay out.

On what basis could there be litigation?

The carry on about the booing the kicker seems a bit over the top. The same fans that shake their head and condone it, will jeer a bad ref decision, boo the villain on the opposition and cheer a mistake made by a rival player.

Good, the bad, the Eddie: You've lost respect, rugby - and the Wallaby leader of the next generation

Eddie gave Cooper a few chances and it didn’t work out. He didn’t seem quite match fit or sharp enough. They could have taken Foley, but he hasn’t played any tests either this year and is way past his bet. Likewise with Hodge (who is a very part time 10 anyway). Edmed, Pasitoa, Lynagh, Harrison are all the other options but hardly played, if at all, or are too young and green. Lolesio was in and out of the Brumbies but Rennie also didn’t trust him either. Debreczeni doesn’t seem up to it. That leaves Donaldson. Who, whilst not the best of the above, is fit and can play 15 if needed. He can also kick ok most of the time. They are stuck between old guys who aren’t quite there anymore, and young guys who need more time and experience.

It feels like a winning culture: Why Wallabies are bullish ahead of World Cup, Eddie sweats on injured stars

At the very least, even if only couple or no one is signed, Eddie is piggy backing RL to get some press. Well played.

'Could be a zinger for World Cup': RA chair says Eddie is in NRL's 'heads' as star name dropped

Some more than fair points but this will be his defining role. To start with he will have to coach the team differently than England, then Japan etc. This will be the most interesting thing this year. Especially as it is a free swing but I am glad that he says the team can win it though. As has to make the most of what he has now, then start to evolve the team and play over the next few years. Also be intriguing to see how he evolves the women’s game.

OPINION: Four reasons Eddie's long-term deal is a bad idea for Australian rugby - and two why it makes perfect sense

There are plenty of people that can’t say exactly what they think in a work environment. Just look at the Kyrie Irving issue. That’s ok though. Religions doest give you a free pass. It’s called respect for others. When they leave employment, they go for it and see where that leaves them.

'I'll see you in hell': Kerevi claims RA silenced 'angry' players who backed Israel Folau, reveals he was targeted

He is offshore so wouldn’t be picked by NZ. TKB knowing Rennie (as his Chefs coach), that Aust pick some offshore players probably thought it was worth asking. Plus he is Australian too.

You are talking crap. Rules changed after he left

No. Hansen was rate highly Brumbies wanted him to stay.

He wasn’t unwanted. He had an offer.

They aren’t rejects.

He didn’t come good. He always very good. He won MOM in one of his first tests when Aust beat NZ

Unless they are down to 4 fit props (a bit like Aust & Eng), do you think he may have also go the nod to give him experience in big away games?

Well said. For any questioning of refs decisions, the Wallabies were over the line 3 times in the first half. All pulled back for their own indiscretions. AAA yellow card may have been over the top, but a penalty was certainly justified. JOC sat too deep. The Aussie forward ball runners didn’t seem to get into the game. Aust for all it dominant hits in D also missed a few as well. They threw away & kicked away good ball a few times. It was a dogs breakfast performance fro them. The fact that they were in the game until the end against a v good team in front of their full home crowd (for the first time in 21 months) would only hurt them more. How good Scotland are will be determined this week v SA and in the 6N. They really have to win the 6N now.

You aren't imagining it... proof the Wallabies were hard done by

Barclay was very good. He also questioned the last scrum penalty to Scotland. In effect saying the ref edict seems to be whoever is flat on their face usually gets penalised. Not in this case.

How did you read it that way?

Be great to have Petaia, Perese and Vunivalu fit. They offer the most line breaking ability in Australian outside backs. They could be the difference in converting possession into line breaks and tries

Wallabies break six-year series drought on the back of doing little things well

Gibson as head coach was disastrous for the Tahs. Poor performances and little player development. Add in signing a contract, which pushed Cron out, then leaving early and it is even worse. Hopefully Pennie is giving some time and the resources (like Gilmore as Defence coach) to fix it. The 2nd part of the season, and I know it was only SRA, the performances improved although there was inconsistency. They also had the misfortune of having to play the team that came off the bye every week too. Hopefully they can get a Rodda, Hockings, or Phillips (after his French deal) or 2 of them to the club for 2022 and 2023 at least.
