Second place will belong to Adelaide United if they can knock off a Wellington Phoenix side who simply must win to stay in the finals race. Stay up to date with their A-League clash with live scores on The Roar from 7:35pm (AEST).
Adelaide are prime to make their move and join the best sides near the top of the ladder, but they’ve won just one of their last five matches – settling for three draws and even tasting defeat against Wellington on Anzac Day. The New Zealanders are in very strong form, but they’re running out of time to make their assault on the top six and need to keep the wins flowing.

AA, how about somebody that can score goals in the competition they’re playing in. Your comment makes little sense.

Strikers are generally judged on their goals per game ratio. Mclaren has a far superior goals per game ratio than Juric, domestically and internationally. Juric’s so called better european career netted him a grand total of 27 goals in 102 games, across leagues that the majority of the contributors on this forum, yourself included AA, rightly or wrongly, generally argue that are no better than the A league, so there is a few holes in your bucket when you base your argument on who is the better stirker based on european striker...those numbers are not too prolific even for the layman’s scout.

Well spotted JB I thought the same myself regarding the high level of fouling from the Reds People in glass houses and all that.

Someone who's spent the majority of his career in europe, or someone who has spent the majority in Australia? I know who'd rather have in my team

Stevo- Come, come, it is only weeks since the coach was telling us that he had the best centre-forward in the country. jb

Did the Adelaide stat keeper notice the number of fouls whistled up against his team of football purists? More than double their opposition. jb

With at least 2 games in hand on every team above them, the Roar is in a very strong position to make a play for 2nd spot.

I think that's a bit extreme but Mauks certainly getting a name for it.

I think Mauk has probably discredited himself from ever playing representative football again. I believe there’s still a slither of hope for Yengi, but he needs a proper coach, as he’s obviously picking up bad habits.

Except that City are 6 points clear of 2nd with a game in hand and superior goal difference. Kind of like being 9 points ahead.

A shambolic display of failed attack from both teams. Adelaide have flatlined & appear aimless recently, while Phoenix will rue missing out on the three points.

Entertaining draw, but a s Nixs fan i think we should have done better whrn they went to 10 men, That's owe season over we just cant make the top6 now. Well done to Adelaide they got lucky and prob had he better chances.

Maybe Adelaide need some OAP’s with experience to show the youngsters how to score !! Slowly drawing their way up the ladder – 2nd now with 3 draws, a loss and a win from the last five. It’s a tight table with nobody really sneaking well clear other than City.

Was absolutely pathetic from the kid. Better be careful or he’ll get a reputation :silly:

Done. Kind of entertaining but sheer ineptitude in front of goals killed it for both sides.

Absolute joke isn’t it? I feel like they just make up the number sometimes.

Another nil-all draw for the Nix. They could have won both games, but just no ability to hit the net. Needed at least one win here to make a serious shake at the finals. So many missed opportunities.
