We are eager for Cricket Australia to announce the squads for the T20 Wolrd Cup 2020, so let’s take a look at the most possible XI.
1. David Warner
Matches: 79; runs: 2207; average: 31.52; strike rate: 140.48
Warner is known as the most successful T20 opener in the world alongside Rohit Sharma. With a strike rate of 140.48, he could smash the ball over the ropes and give good starts to the Aussies. Warner has also had a lot of experience and has captained the T20 side a couple of times. He is electric on the field with his sharp throws to the stumps.
2. Aaron Finch
Matches: 61; runs: 1989; average: 38.25; strike rate: 155.87
Finch is known for his blistering sixes and fours, but did you know he’s the record holder for the highest score in T20 internationals with a score of 172? It’s the second-highest score in all forms of T20 cricket. With Warner and him in the middle, the bowlers in the powerplay could face serious carnage.
3. Steve Smith
Matches: 31; runs: 681; average: 29.60; strike rate: 130.71
When the openers get dismissed early there is a need for an anchor to take the innings deep. The correct person for this is Steve Smith. He has a mix of shots. He keeps the scoreboard ticking but doesn’t play loose shots or throw his wickets away. With the experience of captaining the team he could come in handy during the World Cup.

4. Travis Head
Matches: 16; runs: 319; average: 26.58; strike rate: 130.20
Travis Head should be the ideal No. 4 with the ability to play attacking shots and defensively when needed.
5. Alex Carey
Matches: 16; runs: 173; average: 14.41; strike rate: 124.46
Alex Carey is one of Australian cricket’s rising stars. He is the ideal wicketkeeper for the team and can also open the innings when needed. Although the stats don’t say much, he impressed the selectors at the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
6. Glenn Maxwell
Matches: 54; runs: 1576; average: 35.02; strike rate: 160.00
Glenn Maxwell is known as one of the best all-rounders in the world. He has an impressive strike rate of 160 and – who knows? – he could score a quickfire hundred. An average of 35.02 is more than excellent for a batsman at No. 6.
7. Jhye Richardson
Matches: nine; wickets: nine; average: 31.88; economy: 8.44
A perfect bowler required to bowl in the right areas and contain the middle overs. The right-arm fast can cramp up the batsman by bowling bullet-speed balls.
8. Jason Behrendorff
Matches: six; wickets: seven; average: 16.7; economy: 7.31
Jason could come handy with his left-arm pace in the powerplay and death overs.
9. Mitchell Starc
Matches: 31; wickets: 43; average: 18.65; economy: 6.91
This guy doesn’t need an introduction as arguably the world’s best bowler. He could give the ideal starts along with Pat Cummins in the powerplay overs and bundle out the opposition very quickly.
10. Pat Cummins
Matches: 28; wickets: 36; average: 19.86; economy: 6.87
How could we leave the world No. 1 bowler out of the squad? The heart of the bowling attack could bowl in the powerplay and prove handy in the field placements.
11. Adam Zampa
Matches: 29; wickets: 33; average: 19.03; economy: 6.12
The team requires a spinner who could bowl dot balls in the middle. He could spin the ball to take crucial LBWs.

It's a hard one as all our good t20 bats like the top 3. Green would be great if he could get himself fit to bowl. I'd throw in Josh Phillipe as a left field option. No to Turner, I'm not convinced he is anything near his best at the moment, was struggling for games with the Scorchers last season.

I could see them opting for M.Marsh or Wade before Head, if the most recent T20I squads are anything to go by. I agree that top four is unlikely to change and probably shouldn't - which could make it difficult for Stoinis considering he is probably best suited to the top.

Think that's pretty close, no Head or Wade though. Hopefully maybe Green pops up, a fit and in form Turner would be good, that can bowl

That tail has me worried. Need an all-rounder at 7 surely, to give the top order the freedom to play aggressively. And as mentioned above by someone, Maxy should bat at 4 in T20 cricket, he is the ace in the pack, lets use him.

Be lucky to get Behrendorff consistently on the park. And luck would be with Head if in the T20 squad. Scratchy. Maxwell up to 4. Possibly Mitchell Marsh with pace a plus. An I agree with Agar. Argue over Starc and Richardson. And both should not have to bat in a 20 over game you would hope. So they would sit behind Cummins and Agar Finch(C) Warner Smith Maxwell Marsh Carey Agar Cummins Starc Zampa Richardson And Labuschagne would stiffen the side ..if necessary

T20 is a game requiring 2 spinners unless the pitch is spicy. Agar must play ahead if one of the seamers.

Top 4 will always be Warner, Finch, Smith and Maxwell. 5 is too low for him to bat in T20’s let alone 6

Aaron Finch has been our T20 captain for years, along with being a captain in the IPL. He knows the game inside and out, why replace him with Smith

For me, Richardson is not a 7 batter. You need someone who can bat both time, should wickets fall and we just need to make it to the end, and also can hit. Maybe Agar, but more likely a batting alrounder. Can we fit Stoinis in to do it? Maybe the order will change accordingly but with Maxwell to bowl some overs we don’t need 5 specialist bowlers.
