The silly season continues as the third day of the 2022 trade period dawns, with a number of big moves still yet to be made. Join The Roar for a live blog and rolling coverage of the day’s news, rumours and action from 9am (AEDT).
After three moves apiece on the first two days of the trade period, this is usually the time when things die down until the second week.
However, it’s expected a number of others moves will be finalised, with Brodie Grundy’s trade to Melbourne for pick 27 looking a go for launch, and Fremantle also set to finalise the trade of Griffin Logue and Darcy Tucker to North Melbourne as a package deal.
The Dockers are looking for a twin trade of their own back the other way, eyeing Gold Coast pair Josh Corbett and Jeremy Sharp. The latter is under contract, which complicates matters, and the Suns seem keen to play hardball.
Melbourne speed demon Toby Bedford to GWS, Adelaide swingman Billy Frampton to Collingwood and Western Bulldogs defender Zaine Cordy to St Kilda are some of the lesser trades which could be completed as well, with Cordy set to join the Saints as a free agent.

Agree Birdman plus the incentives they may have reached by stretching out his contract may have added a B&F extra 100K play 20 games per year in seniors extra 50K, Finals best player extra 100K will never be reached.Looks great on paper

Despite the spin that Bowes was on the Cats radar for a while, they only want the pick pinned to him. If he delivers some value as a player, that's just a bonus but not the main game.

The cap is certainly going to go up in the next few years under the new CBA but I am unsure how much and when. But 10% would be $1.3m

Because of the unusual circumstances in which they were forced to delist him.

Then why did Carlton receive a third-round compensation pick (49)? I think Carlton FC must have told its members porky pies.

Dunkley been whining and whingeing about moving clubs for years. Wanted Essendon, looked at SA offers and now wants a tan. Who’d want him really with his nomadic mercenary nature?
Macca

Yeah, the Cats winning the premiership played no part in his decision. FWIW Dodoro stated the Bombers had been tracking him for 2 years.

North need to pay 95% of the cap (they probably have unused cap space carried forward that needs using) and have very few decent players to pay, finding the cap space wouldn’t be an issue.
