Fresh off a stirring win over Geelong, Carlton head north to take on old foes GWS in Sydney. Join The Roar for live scores and rolling coverage from 4:35pm (AEDT).

The undermanned Giants were comfortably beaten by fellow strugglers West Coast last week, but welcome back Josh Kelly and Lachie Whitfield for concussion in a major boost to their midfield.

The Blues, though, are undefeated to start the season courtesy of their season opener draw with Richmond and last week’s thrilling win over the Cats, and will back themselves to return to Melbourne with four premiership points safely in their keeping.

Sydney didn’t look very good but it’s better than Melbourne easily

Gawn put pressure on Hackson , reckon he will come out firing today & the media in WA will stop giving him sh.t on his poor performances to date. Huge game for Freo. WCE in the box seat. It’s the loser wins the Wooden Spoon Cup. :stoked:

Thank God we have the Western Derby to liven proceedings up tomorrow. Pity I'll be watching on replay due to an intervening engagement.

This is a game we would have lost in recent years - playing badly and winning is progress

Agree- watched the reserves , took me back to western oval 1980s . Awful ground. Should have been @ the SCG. Must play A Grade @ the best Available Grounds . Is SAAD playing best footy of his life ATM ?

At least the Blues got 4 points but it was a cra p game by both teams. I also think the oval is the worst in the league.

Hey just turned it on radio & you won. Happy days, a dirty win can be better sometimes than a thrashing. Win ugly weekend starting with the Dirty Dogs & l guess they passed the virus over to the rest

I’m going to use a quote from The Great Dominic Toretto: It doesn’t matter whether you win by an inch or a mile…winning is winning, no matter how s#1t the contest. Well, I added the last bit but I think it’s apt for this game.

If the roles were reversed here and gws won on the back of sych a dodgy free, itd be the number 1 news story for the week. Sadly though, Carton won so itll be swept under the carpet

Feels like a few Giants have wasted their careers in western Sydney. Whitfield, Kelly, Greene etc. I hope it was worth sticking fat....

Have only watched the last quarter and a half, with an interest in neither side. The umpiring has left a lot to be desired; to say the least.
