Collingwood stare down the barrel of a 0-3 start to 2024 when they face St Kilda in Thursday night AFL action. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:30pm (AEDT).

Prediction

Spud’s Game is always a motivational one for St Kilda, and with the Pies a little off their game early in the season, the running game of the Saints should see them inflict a third consecutive loss upon the reigning premiers.

I think no footy for Carlton Round 2 is painful I don’t know what to do - bring on round 3

Uncharted waters. He got lucky 2023- not so this year

Yeah we have, but we've been completely smashed in all three losses. I wouldn't be as worried if we had been more competitive.

He is feeling it Macca. I remember when the Bulldogs smashed us in 2022 he couldn’t sleep. The issue in the presser is he can’t label Moore, Sidey and Howe as struggling and making bad decisions. You can see the strain in his face. Top 4 already a pipe dream I’d say so they need to get level in wins and losses at some stage and build for the lower reaches of the eight. Keeping the vibe will be very difficult id have thought. Certainly his biggest challenge since we lost 3 of our final 4 games last year. They defied history then to win the flag and may well have to again it seems

Lots of comments here about how poor the pies were, maybe that’s a reflection of how good the Saints were this week.

Fagan was in the crowd watching and taking notes.

Made up for the pies first goal which came from a mark that was not a mark I guess.

Of course. I'm referring to game style in particular re Richmond and Collingwood. See any similarities?

I am sure they will be fine, unfortunately.

I am sure you do. You seem to think about them all the time, so night time shouldn't be any different.

...and I lay awake at night, concerned for the plight of your Tigers.

Yeah...he has a job in front of him but I like that he says exactly that. There's no denial or bluster. You can almost see him rolling up his sleeves. His priority seems to be to ensure they are all in this together...no fractures.

And the Hawks, three back to backs. And all the teams that manage this feat.

Pies looked tired. Really difficult to maintain the brutal running game they employed last year. Just how good were the Tigers winning 3 in 4 years?

That's not part of the review and there aren't infinite cameras to cover the curvature of the boundary anyway. The boundary umpire was right there. There's a pretty reasonable chance some part of the ball was still on the line.
