St Kilda Saints vs Fremantle Dockers: AFL live scores

By The Roar / Editor

The Fremantle Dockers head to Tasmania to battle the St Kilda Saints knowing a win could see them in the eight… for a few hours, at least. Follow the action from Hobart as the final day of the home-and-away season begins with live scores on The Roar from 12:15pm (AEST).

Last week’s pulsating Derby win has ensured the Dockers will remain in the final mix until the bitter end, though it’s doubtful they could do any damage even if they can sneak in.

To do that, they’d need to take care of business against the inconsistent but potentially damaging Saints, then wait to see if Essendon slip up against Collingwood in a few hours’ time.

The Saints are all but mathematically out of the reckoning, but showed their best footy is good enough to trouble anyone when they stunned Geelong with a five-goal start in their match last week. That they went on to lose nicely sums up their wretched 2021 season – there has been far too little of that good stuff to keep them on track for a second straight finals series.

Andrew Brayshaw is back for the Dockers after missing the Derby through suspension; while for the Saints, gun young forward Max King misses. Saints ball magnet Luke Dunstan is also a surprise omission.

Every game is excellent but these are the stats for the game in which you say he was atrocious. He was very good. He was also one you wanted delisted because he was too old. He is 23. How old do you think Hamling is?

You don't remember 5 or 6. You have made them up. He is not spoken about as one of the top 3 in the comp for no reason. You just don't watch Freo games. He has played almost full minutes every game. Very strong

Don you do miss a lot…..Darcy finished one early you say. No stats on this one but I remember at least 5-6.He is super talented but he is carrying excessive weight which is impacting his legs. I do hope he puts some extra work in the off season. Huge potential. It is not only me it has been regularly called in the commentary.

Logue stats on one game….. and you are known to tamper them. it’s his regular turnovers trying to mark instead of spoiling he is weak overhead and rarely wins one on one contests if you watched him closely like i do he is very tentative in his attack on the ball. With injuries to Hamling, Chapman, Hughes and Young he was lucky to get a game.

Just to clarify things for you re: Logue. He had 18 disposals at 83%efficiency and had 10 intercepts, the most in the game from either side (equal with Coffield).

Heard Cerra is off to Melbourne. Our bottom 6 just aren’t up to it so you get inconsistency.

Imagine the footage of a glorious mullet flapping in the wind catching the ball, in ultra slow mo, from about 8 different angles most of which add nothing. Majestic

Until today, Pearce has finished every game since his return. Darcy, likewise, has only finished one early. I don't know if you are aware of Darcy's season. I think you have mixed him up with Zac Clarke. A bit confused. Logue was one of our few winners. Maybe you have mixed him up with Duman.

Walker has been brilliant lately as has Young, Serong and Treacy will be a huge watch next year. Acres and Tucker aren’t up to it. Chapman can replace Wilson who had his day.

That’s a big problem Darcy and Pearce rarely finish games.Pearce is injury prone like S Hill and Humpty Darcy needs to shed Kilos and get fit. Hoping Hamling gets right to replace Logue and even Hughes who is average is better.

That probably sums Freo up right now. Last week excellent, this week poor. We aren't there yet, next year fingers crossed a bit of a better run with injuries and find a bit more consistency and finals should be the goal. 11th seems about right for me as to where we are at. I get the feeling Cerra is gone sadly but I'd be hoping to load up on a couple more high draft picks and set this side up over the next few years. A lot of good young talent, Serong is going to be a star, ditto Hayden Young and Henry has started to show a bit. Longmuir is building something but the consistency is still lacking. Enjoyed this season far more than any under Ross since 2015 so it's only up from here!!

Last couple of weeks sums up the season. When conditions suit we can match it with top 8 teams but when they don’t the skills and pressure go out the window and we produce performances that are simply not competitive. Finishing 11th would be accurate indication of where we are at, top half of the bottom 8.

What's the bet Essendon loses to Collingwood now, and Fremantle has to suffer the frustration of knowing they bottled a chance to play finals?
