Geelong welcome back captain Patrick Dangerfield as they head north to take on Sydney at the SCG. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:50pm (AEST).
The Cats are coming into this match-up on the back off a great win against Melbourne, despite having lost superstar Jeremy Cameron partway through the game.
The Cats, who have been found floundering at multiple points so far this season, will hope to use last week as a turning point for the rest of this season. They have had some terrible injury luck so far, but when healthy have shown flashes of the Geelong team that were near-on unbelievable the latter half of last year.
Sydney will enter this game on a high after being the first team in over a decade to break the 200-point barrier in recording a whopping win over West Coast.
Regardless of the opposition faced, a 171-point win is always going to give any side a huge confidence boost, and the percentage jump it gave the Swans has also pushed them back into finals contention.
Round 6 between these two teams saw the Swans go down in a gut-punching 93 point loss that went much the same as last year’s grand final.
The Cats have made two forced changes, with Jeremy Cameron coming out of the side due to concussion and Mark O’Connor also making way due to an adductor issue.
Dangerfield has healed up from internal injuries sustained in Round 14, while Esava Ratugolea will also be back in for the Cats after the hamstring issue that interrupted his so far spectacular season as a defender.
Sydney lose young gun Chad Warner to a calf injury and have also omitted Ryan Clarke, with Will Hayward coming into the 22.

Pathetic. He’s overrated. A flat track bully …

Apart from the goal catastrophes I think it was a great game to watch. A real nailbiter. Swans did some great stuff. Considering that every 'expert' tipped Geelong to win and considering that the last time Swans played them Geelong smashed the Swans by 90 points for this Swans tragic it was a heartening display of a bright future. Runs of poor goal kicking seem to happen to all teams at times - thinking back to Port Adelaide's disastrous goal kicking a few seasons ago. On...on...

 At least it ruined everyone’s tips equally.

Ugh, what a waste of life watching this. Swans, hang your heads in shame for not winning, Geelong, hang your heads in shame for getting dominated in general play. Both teams, you ruined my tipping

Chris Scott has shown a masterclass in coaching adjustments as the Cats after half-time completely stopped being the sieve that they had been in defence to all those shallow forward 50 entries from the Swans. After 16 inside 50 marks by the Swans in the first half, they limited the Swans to just the 4 in the second half. But even they had some real bad misses, Henry on the run taking a shot when he had plenty of space left to run into will surely be looked into for what the decision making process was there, and many other misses. The Cats goal-kicking performance honestly is only made tolerable because of how poor the Swans were tonight in that same department.

An excellent result

I am genuinely at a loss for words for what we've all just witnessed tonight from these two teams, who were last year's Grand Finalists lets not forget! The worst goal accuracy of any team thats had at least 25 shots this year was the performance the Swans put in tonight. The late misses actually astonish and confound rational understanding. The Robbie Fox miss late, the two Tom Hickey misses that were quite obvious chances. How this team last week put up 200 points, though with plenty of behinds then as well (31.19), against any team at all even the Eagles I could not explain.
