'We've all played one good game': Dal Santo 'sick' of hearing about Cox's prelim

By The Roar / Editor

Nick Dal Santo says Mason Cox’s preliminary final performance against Richmond was the ‘exception’ for his career thus far and that the Magpie must lift.

Totally agree with you. In last year's home and away season North Melbourne beat more top eight sides than Collingwood. North Melbourne finished outside the top eight. Collingwood over the past 12 months was never anything special.

Best part of the story is when the Collingwood Turncoats started chanting USA the Eagles supporters responded with W.A. And that rang out louder as the game unfolded.

All the knives come out by our supposed supporters, were starting to act like Richmond supporters did against ritcho... What's happened to side by side??? Not side by side only when we win

As I wrote preseason. anon Roar Pro March 19th 2019 @ 5:09pm They finished 4th last year with a very easy fixture. Sure, they beat the Tigers convincingly in the prelim, but upsets do happen in sport otherwise we wouldn’t watch. It came out of nowhere. Remains to be seen whether it was an anomaly or a trend. I suspect an anomaly because Collingwood were a middle of the road kind of team for 23 rounds. Don’t forget that from 1/4 time of the Grand Final West Coast were at least a 10 goal better team, they were just terribly inaccurate in front of goal. All of this on Collingwood’s home ground against an interstate team too. and a month ago: anon Roar Pro May 30th 2019 @ 12:54pm I’m not sold on them, nor their potent forward line headed up by an uncoordinated basketballer. Definitely a premiership chance, especially when you considered they are assured of a home qualifying final whether they finish 1st, 2nd or 4th. Off the top of my head. Unconvincing against Sydney. Unconvincing ANZAC Day. Flawed West Coast side beat them for the 3rd time in succession on the MCG. Geelong beat them on the ‘G. Not a good sign when two immediate rivals travel to your home ground and beat you.

Pies simply were coached by Buckley to kick into the hole in front of Cox prelim night. It was a perfect night too, as good conditions as you could ever hope for at night. Dimma didn’t wake up in time to block the hole. He is a great coach though Dimma. No one gets it right all the time. Clarko leads Bucks 11-1 head to head. Cox has no lower body strength to hold his position and defenders now just work him under the ball. Yeah he should get more frees but that’s not the story. The story is not growing up playing footy means he never developed good lower body core strength and at 29 next year he better get it fast. He will look better come spring with the smell of freshly cut grass in the September shadows of the G.

He's gotta stop acting like he's the greatest Aussie bloke on Twitter too, that Cox.

I thought the big fella had changed footy that night. Ordinary coaching by Hardwick, in retrospect - it wont happen again !

67 goals from 54 games. 1 and a bit goals per game is alright for a chf/ff these days. He's had more than one good game. One famous game perhaps? Maybe that's all he's allowed according to Andy Warhol's theory. Andy would have made a good in an under rover back in his day.

How about some original insight rather than stating what is bleeding obvious to all of us.

Just saying what we've all known for a few seasons. Mason is a vfl reserves player at best, really Collingwood I'm sure if you scouted Australia you'd find a talented tall fwd/2nd ruck option who would perform better.

Cox has been drinking his own bathwater for a while, he's starting to realise just how hard this caper is.
