The Canterbury Bulldogs head into their clash with bitter rivals the Parramatta Eels with renewed confidence following last week’s drought-breaking victory. Stay up to speed with every point via our live scores page on The Roar from 5:30pm (AEST).
Emotions ran high after the Bulldogs secured their first victory for 2021 last week, an 18-12 triumph over the Sharks at last giving new coach Trent Barrett something to smile about.
They will likely find the going even tougher to make it two wins on the trot against the high-flying Eels, though Dallin Watene-Zelezniak is a welcome return after missing last week with a leg infection. He will, however, start in the reserves.
The Eels have a familiar face of their own to welcome back, with Ryan Matterson taking a bench spot in his first NRL game since being knocked out by the Storm’s Felise Kaufusi in Round 2.
Brad Arthur’s men have been on a tear of late, scoring a whopping 81 points in their past fortnight in big wins over the Raiders and Broncos respectively, and with the Bulldogs having conceded the second-most points of any team this year, they will doubtless sense a chance to add to their recent try-scoring ways.

considering the size, speed and power of wingers these days - would you want to tackle them? Gone are the days of the small and speedy wingers like Steve "Slippery" Morris.

I assume that's a typo, but unsure because I don't know what his ex looks like.

Selling garden furniture perhaps?   https://surryhillstimes.com/barrettsfurniture/

That bloke is not a first grade coach. He cost Manly a generation of players. He just should be in some other business where he might be good.
Shadow
Roar Rookie
Well, if they seem more like a reserve grade team Hard Yards it's just as well they have a reserve grade coach. He did wonders for Manly!
Hard Yards

They are going to be slaughtered. The Dogs aren't really a first grade side this year.

Well, that's a good win. Commiserations TB and the rest of the Kennel dwellers; your Dogs had me scared about a repeat of last night for a moment there!

On the Dogs coffin. The Dogs next games are against, Dragons, Raiders, Titans, Panthers, Dragons, Eels, Manly, Roosters, Rabbitohs. After that… R.I.P. the Dogs 2021 season!

His ex was a rabid anti-vaxxer. They’ve split-up now and BC is playing well again.

Trent Barrett's words exactly!

Well, now the Broncos don't even have that "honour". The Dogs have now conceded 248 points and still have one hand on the wooden spoon. The Broncos could lose that too!

ABC lost the signal. What’s happening?

Yep, before this game they were leading the NRL for most points conceded (221).
