The South Sydney Rabbitohs will look to get back to their best form and maintain a winning streak when they host the under siege, but finally back in the winners’ circle Brisbane Broncos. Join The Roar for live scores and coverage from 7:50pm (AEDT).

While the on-field product from both sides has come under the microscope for different reasons in the early going this season, it’s in the coaches box where this match takes on its biggest storyline.

During the off-season, Anthony Seibold and Wayne Bennett made a well-documented switcharoo between their respective clubs, and it’s now that they will face off for the first time.

The Rabbitohs have, on the scoreboard at least, picked up right where they left off at the end of 2018. They carry a six and one record into the contest and will be looking to keep that going, but it’s unarguable to say they have been pretty clunky in attack.

Their defence has won them the vast majority of games, and while an attack featuring Adam Reynolds, Cody Walker, Alex Johnston, Damien Cook and Sam Burgess among others will click eventually, they’d like that to be sooner rather than later.

Of course, they are at least winning.

Seibold’s side have been in turmoil, and while they had a face-saving victory against an undermanned Cronulla Sharks outfit at home last week, they are in the bottom portion of the table with a record of just two and five.

The Broncos have struggled at both ends of the park, and for the most part, been one of the worst defensive teams in the competition. This is quite obviously having majorly adverse impacts on their form.

They now couple that with the rumours surrounding the imminent departure of Kodi Nikorima and James Roberts, and there suddenly is hardly a question they are the team coming into this encounter with their backs to the wall.

The only positive for Brisbane is their long-term record over Souths since their admission into the competition, having won 21 out of 29 matches.

Prediction
Souths will finally click tonight. Brisbane’s defence has been ordinary, and I can see this being a bit of a blowout by the time it’s all said and done.

Rabbitohs by 16.

lol my mistake, sorry to all from Canberra, I’m not from Canberra and forgot that Bruce Stadium is GIO Stadium as I wouldn’t know any part of Canberra if I fell over it, yes yes I know blah blah blah TB and Nat lol btw I don’t drink flagons, I’m a beer man, always was and always will be lol Anyway, GBS’s comments were spot on, which speaks allot higher than most here, who were rapping the Broncs and making all sorts of excuses and even making out that the Broncs played better and by reading some comments, I thought the Broncs were leading and have won the game, if I didn’t see the score or listened to Seibs post match interview and what he said and how deluded he is!

Thank you Brother, I had finger poised for my Diehards rebuttle. While we won't be making NRL grade to continue the proud tradition, we are '17 BRL premiers and now a feeder for Norths on the way to our own ISP team. Step by step we're getting back up.

It was nothing special, but he was solid enough for a rookie on the back of one training session. When a team is going this ordinary, you take what you can get. Surely you remember that from Souths dark years between 1973 and 2011

Complaining about the Broncos not converting their opportunities? How on earth does that imply anything other then the broncos shortcomings? Far out mate, your team is on top of the ladder, do you really need every comment from your oppositions fans to be dripping with praise for your own team? I'm not sure I can give you the validation you're after.

I don't support either side but this game was not close in any aspect. Brisbane fans are in denial! It's not a place that they have been in often in the last 30 years but the Broncos are not on par with the top teams and will be out of semi finals contention just past the halfway mark if they aren't already. Maybe the future is brighter long term but not this year.

All I hear is Dearden this and Dearden that, I hardly saw or hardly heard his name mentioned throughout the telecast! Except ‘fatty’ post game, trying somehow, to bring some positives into the Broncs performance, come off it, the kid was way out of his league and got ‘smashed’ all over the park, just like the Broncs did!

GBS, you are probably the most unbiased Bronco supporter here and was throughout this game, good work as some are just living in the past and seem to forget what and how the Broncos won in some games over many years. This is an end of an era and the sooner the Broncos fans realise this (which you do) the better it will be and the less they will look like sooks and whingers lol

Stop acting 'dumb Emcie' you know what I'm talking about, this is just one of your comments, throughout the game 'Geez, that’s twice they’ve got over the line for nothing…' as there are hundreds of ‘hanky tier eyed cry cry cry’ whinging Bronco supporters! Just except that we are a better side and the Broncs have gone backwards under Seibold and their current management!

They had 3 lucky tries and 3 where the field position was given to them from penalties. That's all their points.

Much as a fit and in form James Roberts would be a much needed boost to see Souths go up another gear I agree George Burgess should have been signed first. I don't want to see ANY of the Burgess brothers play for another club and I was disappointed that Luke Burgess was made a scapegoat for the Sutton US incident as well. That said, if rumours are true that Latrell Mitchell is not 100% happy at the Roosters, and could he could be tempted to jump ship, then Souths should make Mitchell the top priority even if that meant signing a lesser player than Roberts for this year and landing Latrell for 2020.

Yeah, but Turner did well in the centres and I hear that you guys may not keep George. Bad mistake. He may have some errors in him but he is a big unit and the Bergi are much happier when they are all together and around each other. Take one out and the others are not as dangerous. Mitchell might be worth the loss but I'd be keeping George ahead of chasing Roberts, he's not worth the loss and you have a fair bit of backup in the backs.

Funny years of SSTID aka Reg tearing strips off wayno and all of a sudden he loves a Queenslander, that’s hilarious, I’ve never seen a smurf backflip until now

Stupidity, mmmm so wayno left Newcastle in a better position true or false? He didn’t take any players with him ? And StGill was left in a better position without any disruption to playing roster, that’s my point Peter it’s not stupid, can you provide clarification I would happily accept otherwise go play in a puddle

Since I’m not an SGI supporter, Wayne Bennett didn’t leave me anything. To be clear, my comment was about the rank stupidity of your post.
