The resurgent St George Illawarra Dragons face a stern test at WIN Stadium against a Canterbury Bulldogs sporting a new coach. Join The Roar for live scores from 3pm (AEST).

After a horror start to the season, the Dragons seem to have picked up a degree of form – winning three of five matches. Last Sunday night, they crushed the injury-hit Manly Sea Eagles 34-4 to set up a potentially more successful second half of the season.

The Bulldogs, on the other hand, are anchored to the bottom of the ladder with just one win to their name. Their horrid form saw coach Dean Pay quit the club midweek, meaning caretaker coach Steve Georgallis will helm the side for the first time today.

Canterbury’s only win of 2020 was against St George Illawarra – a 22-2 drubbing at BankWest Stadium in Round 4. The Dragons have won three of the past five meetings between these sides, although the Doggies had won six in a row prior to that.

I don’t know mate, after copping a 40 point drubbings, it was definitely better to be competitive and right in the game until the end

I have been out of action for a while quietly watching the Doggies disintegrate. I was going for a walk listening to the game and thought I'd drop into my local for a restorative Resches and watch till the end. Ouch The disappointment to me is the lack of improvement in players and style of footy over the last 4 -5 years, from the last 2 years of Des through to now, players skills haven't improved, the style of footy hasn't improved and players haven't grown into consistency. SG can coach and I hope they give him a better shot than they gave Deano, by getting quality players in the right spots. Cotric will give us some strike but we really need quality halves who can stay fit, and some danger from fullback. Looks like they also gotta stop trying to catch the ball with their knees, great for a sideshow not good for first grade. :-)

There’s nothing worse than a hard luck loss. I’d rather get flogged by 40 than lose with 3mins to go

Boy - that's about the 5th bad mistake by Lewis in the last 20 minutes (poor kicks, unnecessary penalties and bad passes). Great in defence but he's got an awful lot of errors in his game. Too much of a liability for a 1st grade side I'd have thought.

Can I come back now?? Seriously foul. Not a point scored when I was here, little joy in that win, off in the corner by myself with the radio....

Yeehaaa. Opportunistic, but I'll take it. Good comeback though. 18 points in 15 minutes. How good is Corey Norman doing the Mark Riddell celebration as well?

Damn it. Wonder how it would have gone if Foran was on? Lewis was under pressure all 2nd half without a 2nd kicking option . Good luck Dragons next week, good game at least.
