A local rivalry which both sides will be desperate to win is the final game of Round 5 with the St George Illawarra Dragons taking on the Cronulla Sharks. Join The Roar for live scores from 6:30pm (AEST).

Dragons coach Paul McGregor might have been given a stay of execution last week, but that doesn’t mean his need for a win is any less dire. His St George side are still yet to score a single try since the NRL restarted, and remain the only winless team in the competition.

As such it was a surprise that the only two changes made on Tuesday were injury-enforced ones – Euan Aitken for Brayden Wiliame in the centres and Tyrell Fuimaono in for second-rower Tariq Sims. However, it has been reported the team which will actually run out today will look significantly different to the 17 initially named.

Things are rosier at Cronulla where, after a turbulent restart which saw Bronson Xerri suspended and the team give up a lead to lose late to the Tigers, the Sharks flipped it around with a win in Townsville last weekend.

Making things better for coach John Morris are the expected returns of Andrew Fifita and Chad Townsend. Fifita will slot straight into the front row, while Townsend takes back his no.7 jersey and pushes Matt Moylan to fullback.

Hey DB, I missed your round review last week. You didn't put in or I was asleep? You can't tease us with a corker one week then pull the pin.

The big fella can enjoy free drinks for life in the Shire after the 2016 GF but he is way past his best. Today was a humbling experience to see how quickly we have dropped off post Flanno. With Flanno came aggression, desire and most of all accountability. If you didn't deliver he punished you, like Townsend mid game in a final. Morris is probably a great bloke at a bbq but he has failed to maintain and instill the hardness. Yet again, I picked the wrong year to give up drinking...

Spot on. As a Sharks fan I chose the wrong year to quit drinking. Side has lacked aggression and desire since Flanno left. This comes from accountability. If you stuffed up Flanno punted you as he did mid game to Townsend in the 2016 final against the Raiders. Morris might be a nice bloke but we need a hard arse coach to bring everyone into line. Eddie Jones..not such a stupid idea, great form with bringing teams together.

Wtf were you watching hard yards, LUCKY Henry peanutara pulled on the big red V and had a blinder, dare say st George won't be winning too many more games unless they have 14 on the field for 80min, luck shoulda never come into it, lucky Norman stayed on the field after tripping, on Matt moylan's skirt

Can't argue with that, you are correct. However give that it was Dufty and there was space, he might have thought it worth the risk. I'm sure he wouldn't have tried if it if it was anyone else.

The Sharkies don't look like a very tight unit to me. I could be wrong but it looks like a decent roster they have put together but they don't seem to play with all that much spirit.

I think it's skill that's been lost by most teams. Too much focus at training in running people off the ball rather than just catching the ball.

Glad I didn't take your advice, officials had nothing to do with the result

Wade Graham was penalised for handling the ball in an offside position because he was in front of the player who knocked on... but it sounds like there's only no offside in your own in-goal, not the other team's in-goal, so no dramas. It's so rarely that that rule quirk even comes up that I was genuinely confused!

Soda I was only saying to the boys on Zoom, the Dragons need basic catch and pass drilling, and catch the up and under bombs training. Lots of it.

Good to see the Dragons finally get across the Simpson Desert and make it to the well. Very lucky that Cronulla had two tries disallowed after touching with downward pressure off in goal Dragons mistakes. Lomax in particular should buy a Powerball ticket. Dufty for Mayor of The Georges River Council. Good game of footy.
