Businessman Clive Palmer has vowed to take legal action if Israel Folau’s bid to play in the Queensland Cup is rejected. Palmer joined Folau at a press conference with the intention to register Folau to the Southport Tigers on the Gold Coast. Folau and Palmer were peppered with questions about religion and whether Folau stood by his controversial social media posts which saw his contract with the Wallabies torn up.

No, Clive is a former politician and wannabe political candidate. But as you say he is trying it on for free publicity. The media should draw the line in the sand and ignore his obvious publicity stunts.

When will someone ask Folau how he intends to 'honour the sabbath' if every word of the bible is what he abides by. Because it specifically says to not do any work on that day - so hasn't be been repeatedly breaking this commandment since this day is still held to be Sunday? Doesn't that make it a sin? So how can he condemn others since the Jesus specifically says 'the he who is without sin cast the first stone'. He's a hypocrite of the first order.

Isn't it a disturbing indictment on our nation, that an individual of such dubious repute assumes such influence?

Does anyone here remember when Gold Coast United wore jerseys with “Freedom Of Speech” on them? What are the odds that Southport Tigers will do something similar?

I'm as politically aware and engaged as the next bloke, Kerry. In the right context, in the right place at the right time. Very happy to have those kinds of discussions with you or anyone. But this presser is a farce. The situation is a farce - Folau is still contracted to Catalan Dragons. It's not worthy of serious comment.

Clive also addresses Facebook interfering in Australian politics. Obviously that’s not something that concerns you. I expected better from a man of your standing than to lead the charge of this gaggle of narrow minded numpties.

No, not now, Kerry. Clive has settled it once and for all.

Have a look at the parade of clowns above Steve . Geoff still appears to be living in some delusional state where the FBI failed to overturn the one stone that hid the truth. And the rest of these numpties were probably marching hand in hand with their gullible children, who are guided by some teenage puppet from Sweden . Over population is the real problem, and we could start by culling off all the dopes.

It is not newsworthy because it is simply an attempt by Palmer to get his face on TV and it is not newsworthy as it is simply a ploy by an aging player to force the QRL and NRL's hands on the matter. Simply put it is a publicity stunt, nothing more. If the businesses (both league and union) don't wish to employ Folau due to the reputational risk outweighing any perceived benefit that is their business.

It’s his favourite book.. so much so he lives his life by it evidently.. except the bits he’s not keen on Maybe he’d be better off with the “little train who tried”

I assume Issy has heard of St Jude the patron Saint of lost & DESPERATE causes. Perhaps a word with him may assist in the revival of the career of the greatest league or union player in the world.
