Without defending Wighton in any form, I wonder what was said to have him come over with such intent? He shouldn't be able to be provoked, he must know some clowns are going to mouth off and there's only one victim when an NRL player starts lashing out.
I don't know. There is obviously more footage (because we don't see him urinating), but that isn't as bad as I thought it would be.
I am sure Whighton is a jerk (he did not mean it when he apoligsed to the other twat in the scuffle) but I see a bit of push and shove, not a great deal more. "Actual body harm". I don't see that anywhere. The other guy seemed just as involved as Whighton..
I can only imagine how many people (infact how many NRL players) would have been in push and shove matches that resemble that on any given Saturday night in the last 12 months.
Any assault by an average citizen is horrifying, the same style assault by a NRL player is evidently a non issue, or not as bad as it looks or any punishment is an over reaction. Assault is assault regardless of who perpetrates it.
It's fantastic that these CCTV cameras are all over the place now because they act as a big deterrent to most of the idiots but the ones who go the full pork chop get their stupidity splashed all over the lounge rooms via the TV.
