It is somehow more palatable than a hair pull!

That’s an interesting comparison. I remember reading that being the reason behind Tallis giving it to Ben Ross. The Panthers forwards had been into Tallis and he said to Bennett “I’m going to belt the next bloke that does it” Bennett gave him the ok. Different era. Sam doesn’t really have that option. Maybe ten in the bin or two weeks on the sidelines for throwing a few punches to make a statement would be better for him than getting suspended for pulling hair.

NRL's spent years trying to promote the game as being played by responsible adults, this guy comes out like a snotty 2 year old that's had 2 liters of extra sweetened fizzy drinks. in one act of stupidity has destroyed a couple of years work of the NRL promotion folks player contracts have behavior/conduct rules; he's broken them, kick him out! immigration should review him too, visa and residency requirements also have conduct requirements NRL doesn't need childish grubs, Australia doesn't want them either. should be stuck on the next plane out.

Sam reminds me of Gordon Tallis at about the same time during his career. Opposition players get cocky because they see him as slowing down, less aggressive and struggling to keep up. He has become a target for younger forwards and is not coping with the lack of respect shown, and unfortunately he can’t belt them - so he resorts to being a grub.

Ouch! Whereas YOUR Jonathan Thurston once hid behind a big forward at second marker in Origin and slapped Beau Scott in the face! That's handbags at 10 paces stuff!

I hope big Sam sticks to his word against the Eagles and pulls some hair within penalty goal range, several times. No problemo's from the Eagles camp. Pulling hair could mean costing his team a game or missing a GF but he's not going to change? That's great news for rival fans. Head high tackles aren't much fun though and a bit of a change in attitude there wouldn't go astray.

So if you're a Manly player I'd be cutting my hair nice and short. Just in case....

Sam - you're a grub. Plain and simple. Go back to the Super league if you are going to carry on like that

That’s ok, don’t change. Don’t whinge if happens again, commentators saying what he did don’t justify what he got. He got ‘it’ cause of his record, don’t change, get done harder for your record. Lol

That's disappointing Sam. As the leader of "the Pride of the League" I expect more. In a contact sport "things do happen" but there is no justification for eye gouges and no excuse for hair pulling, ear pulls, twisting a player's neck like a rubber chicken, "bumper bar" forearms to the throat, temple crushers, intentional high shots, late hit cheap shots or tripping! That garbage has NO place in the game whether it is policed consistently or not. It's time you stepped up and lead by example. Remember, playing with controlled aggression is fine, even encouraged, but you are of NO use to the Bunnies sitting on the sidelines! Smarten up or join George in England!
