The Queensland Reds will hunt win number one against the Aotearoa runner-up Chiefs. Keep an eye on what should be match of the round right here on The Roar with live scores from 7:45pm (AEST).
After winning the goodwill and respect of Aussie fans with their excellent Super Rugby AU campaign, the champions have come back to Earth with a thud over the first Trans-Tasman fortnight. The 40-19 thumping to the Highlanders was partially attributed to a short turnaround and the hostile venue, but last week’s 63-25 disaster against the Crusaders was inexcusable.
The Chiefs have looked the most vulnerable of the New Zealand sides across the first fortnight, however, meaning this could be the best opportunity for the Reds (or any Australian team) to claim a win this season. They flexed their muscles against the Brumbies last week, but were incredibly lucky not to go down against the Force in Round 1 and will be wary of an ambush.
Kick-off: 7:45pm (AEST)
Venue: QCB Stadium, Townsville
TV: 9Gem

The problem is that there is really nowhere else for them to warm-up/stay warm to come off the bench in a modern rectangular stadium. This one is a compromise between player welfare (prevention of soft-tissue injury), spectator enjoyment (though I do enjoy a good heckle of an opposition bench player), and available space. I'm open to ideas, but I'm not sure there are many good alternatives.

Dumbest play for the entire weekend was Uelese. What in the honest fk was he thinking. I would kick him from wallabies duties just because of that terrible attitude.

Cousins, for sure. But I have seen some very smart players, do some very stupid things, as have we all I think.

We should be careful asking for an expert opinion; I’m sure there are a lot of ‘experts’ on here. How ever we see things, I think we can agree that player safety should be paramount.

I’m not at the cutting edge of the research Paulo. Would be good to get someone on here who is.

What's with all the Reds players in the in goal area before the try is scored? Should the try have been disallowed due to number of players on the field of play. This is becoming all to common and sooner or later there will be an incident and a controversial decision. Time to something now and outlaw players warming up behind the in goal area. And they're also an annoying distraction when you're behind the goals trying to watch h the game you paid to see.

"What do you call Harry Wilson’s and Nela’s love child?" A biological miracle?

Gordon looked like he did his ankle again yesterday. Hoping it doesn't keep him out for too long.

V NZ sides, as a generalisation across our teams... I know, I know, I shouldn’t generalise, but feels adapt in this case.

Looks like you ruffled a few feathers BAZ. I thought banter was allowed to go both ways. When it comes from an Aussie it's A-grade humour, when it's a kiwi we're told to do some soul searching    .

Losing DMac really did hurt. Of all the players for them to lose, he was the worst.
