Match result:

After a tough first half, the Reds piled on the points in the second stanza en route to a commanding 36-14 win over the Brumbies.

Queensland have impressed this afternoon, putting a disappointing Brumbies outfit to the sword. The Reds now have back to back wins and will look to build on this result as they climb up the Australian conference.

The Brumbies meanwhile will be reflecting on what could have been after upsetting the Waratahs last week. One step forward and two steps back.

Final score
Reds 36
Brumbies 14

The ACT Brumbies will be looking for two wins on the trot this afternoon as they play the Queensland Reds at Suncorp Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match from 4:05pm AEDT.

Despite missing the likes of David Pocock through injury, the Brumbies dug deep last week to defeat the NSW Waratahs at home and are every chance of securing back to back wins against a talented but inconsistent Reds outfit.

The Reds are coming off a win against the Sunwolves, who themselves are proving more difficult opponents than in season’s gone by.

Even with that win however, the Reds remain rooted to the bottom of the Australian conference and need to start stringing wins together if they are a serious threat of making the playoffs.

With this in mind, coach Brad Thorn has opted for a new halves pairing this week as Bryce Hegarty returns from a rib injury to partner Tate McDermott.

Hegarty replaces promising youngster Isaac Lucas, who drops to the bench, while McDermott is in for Moses Sorovi after impressing off the bench against the Sunwolves.

Wallabies forwards Taniela Tupou and Izack Rodda are also back in the starting team after being rested for the Tokyo trip.

Winger Filipo Daugunu also starts in a new look backline which has Chris Feauai-Sautia shifting to outside centre and skipper Samu Kerevi moving into No 12.

The Brumbies, meanwhile, are without Test duo David Pocock and Allan Alaalatoa for another week.

They have been joined on the sidelines by boom back-rower Rob Valetini, who last week was picked up a knee injury.

James Slipper swaps with Scott Sio in the front-row, while Matt Lucas returns to the bench for Ryan Lonergan.

Prediction
Both teammorale-boostingf morale boosting wins and both sides will fancy their chances of posting two wins on the trot. Expect a tight encounter with the Brumbies just showing enough composure to secure the win in the end.

Well one side of the stadium in the sun so everyone was crammed into one half. Plus the QRU are not longer telling Suncorp staff to check tickets. I sat on the 40m line row 16 for $25 (in the shade where the life members sit). With almost everyone in the bottom tier and on one side it was better then your average 13k? crowd.

I thought the battle for Wallaby 13 spot was between Kerevi and TK. Now I would say Kerevi then daylight. He will be better again with better players, inside and out.

Ballymore is fine for preseason games, but I agree with deadwood that it’s not up to standard for SR games. While I haven’t been to any other SR venues, IMHO Suncorp is an excellent venue. to give it context, biased NSW league callers like Phil Gould rave about Suncorp as anNRL venue. I think Suncorp is the QRU’s best chance of maintaining and growing the Reds’ following.

Anyone see Simone play? How does that guy start when he ruins every play of the Brumbies?

I'll discontinue my membership the second the Reds decide to play another game at the decaying, inaccessible, poorly serviced hole that is Ballymore.

Agree riddler, Sorovi looked very good the first couple of games. (And lets not forget both 9s threw a shocker on our line, only Sorovi’s led to a try). Consistency is the next challenge for all of them.

Well done Reds. The heat kept me away for this game and watching the recording, kept the Brumbies down a peg or two as well. Was it a fluke? Probably not.

I would like to see the stats on Wright because he was in the thick of everything not in the backline like some other No 7 we know. However if you're going to replace Mr Right why not with Mr McRight.

The Reds always had an above average pack. Now they have a dynamic backline. This game was the first time we have seen kerevi at 12 and quick wingers and CFS a good hard runner at 13. It made all the difference.....oh and Bryce Hegarty learned how to kick

Folau faingaa as good as he is at the back of a mall cannot be considered for wallabies because he cannot throw. There has been nil improvement on last year. It's a real pity when lineout throwing seems like one of the easier roles

Oz conference like Saffa matchups is fascinating even for NZ fans - just so much drama like Six Nations even when the games do not show consistent skills over 90 minutes. Reds young forwards are something. Rebel back attack good viewing. Brumbies hot and cold showings interesting. Tahs - lol - how they shoot themselves in the foot every other week is great drama. This points to a crowding at end of season in table that will present provide a photofinish to season. Great for rugby fans.

i am a big fan of moses. am a big fan of all 3 halves we have, tate, moses and tuttle. problem seems that they go up and down a bit like yo-yo's hopefully they don't fall into the phipps category of doing some great stuff and then mind numbling dumb stuff..

Nice one Fionn . Showing respect when deserved! Oh yeh!!! Kerevi on fire! I was really happy with Chris Feauai-Sautia. He is a bolter to what knows!! I think k he just needs to build. On a positive for you guys, I thought Banks did well with what limited ball and space he had.

Moses redeemed himself for a nice turnover at the end and nabbed the Reds a bonus point!
