Kurtley Beale was shown a straight red for a high shot in his second game for Top 14 club Racing 92.
The Australian recently joined the French team after leaving the Waratahs. After an impressive debut, Beale was looking to shine again in his first game at home. However, the high shot which many say was harsh to receive a red card, now puts his place in jeopardy now for the quarter-final against Clermont in the Champions Cup.
Nope, never been red carded or cited before this recent incident.

did Farrell ever get a red? I seem to remember him being famous for NOT getting cards :)

How long has KB been a professional rugby player? And he STILL CAN'T TACKLE. The biggest danger to the other bloke was having his eye poked out

What a joke.

Nothing in this. Hit was on the outside of the shoulder. This decision makes a mockery of refereeing and their blindness. Not a difficult decision to make, yet they got it wrong. Not even a pénalité in this....

His constant looking to his captain and facial expressions when he doesn't understand the ref is kind of hilarious.

I didn't really think it was that bad. Initial contact was with the shoulder, so not direct and with force. Definitely appears to be high contact so we are looking at a penalty at a minimum. I could see that easily being a yellow with the current crackdowns but my understanding with the below framework it should be a yellow, unless you adjudicate that an arm to the head/neck after bouncing off the shoulder is a high degree of danger. https://i1.wp.com/rugbyandthelaw.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/High-Tackle-Framework-pic.png?resize=640%2C355

Terrible decision by the French Ref. No wonder the RL regiments had sort them out in two World Wars. Hopeless...

Not much in this. Just another example of KB's inept tackling. The best bit was Beale's face trying to dredge up Year 8 French in an effort to have some idea what the ref was saying.

Not even close to serial offender Owen Farrells red....

Well, high to the head. Looks like shoulder made first contact. No mitigating circumstances. No late movements by either player. I can see why did the Red. Not saying it was as I am not across the thresholds they are using there, but can see that it could be.

It was high but a red card?
