Australian cricket fans will have a chance to go back to the future next cricket season, with the national governing body today announcing fans will be able to vote on which jersey of the past they want to see the team don in upcoming fixtures.
The poll, which you can access on Cricket Australia’s official website from tomorrow (Wednesday 20/2), will allow fans to choose between eight different retro ODI kits.
Votes will be canvassed across the official Cricket Australia website, their social media platforms and the official app, with results set to be announced on Wednesday, February 27. The jersey will “form the basis” of Australia’s ODI uniform for the 2019-20 season.
Without further ado, here is the shortlist.
Which kit gets your pick? Have your say in the comments below, and jump on the official poll from tomorrow!

Surely the ultimate retro shirt would be white, no sponsors, names or numbers.

For mine I'd say either the 1996 or 1999 world cup strips. Never the blue stripe, never ever.

So where do you vote for this?

That would be my vote - fond memories of SA choking! But as long as we don't reprise the rank 1996 WC top I'll be happy. My favourite is still the dusty gold one (not being canary yellow is an automatic win) but I don't think it's retro enough for this poll.

I these are the choices, I'd go for the 99 version. It not only looks okay, but happy memories from 3 of the best WC games Australia ever played, two against SA and the near perfect final against Pakistan.

Wash your mouth out Ronan, that jersey is a treasure!

The stripes were horrible ... in my opinion.

How on earth can they leave out the 94-96 one?

None of these really. How about one of the jerseys Bevan wore saving our backsides for the umpteenth time?

Why, don't you like the players looking like they've been the victim of an Alien chestburster?

I've always been partial to the challenge cup shirts myself. It would have been nice if the NZ and Pakistan teams would be kitted same way, but since CA has no use for a triangular series anymore, they'd find a reason to not do it. Even if they did all use the challenge cup shirts, I'd be interested to see what a NZ shirt would look like as they weren't in that particular competition.

Do we also get to vote on the presence of ads on the shirts?

No1 by far. Original and Iconic. I remember the moustached DK Lillee charging in with that kit on, gold chains swinging, hairy chest poking through the unbuttoned shirt. Poetry in motion. Bring it back.

Brett you are utterly clueless, the blue stripe shirt is a national disgrace and it's farcical that you would offer it such robust support.

Can Lillee, Thomo and Chapelli come back and play too?......time to move foward and stop pandering the good ol' days for a PR stunt.

Give me a long sleeve version of that Perth Challenge strip and I will stump up the crazy amount of cash for it.

World Series Cricket or World Cup '92, and get the visiting team in the same strip. But not the beige for NZ, that joke's over.
