Showdown 51 comes at a crucial time for both Port Adelaide and the Adelaide Crows, with both sides desperate to get their first wins of season 2022. Join The Roar for live scores from 8:20pm (AEDT).
The Power’s 64-point loss to Hawthorn last week was one of the most shocking of the AFL season to date, and has heaped the pressure on the club and coach Ken Hinkley.
Preliminary finalists the last two years, the Power are sorely missing Charlie Dixon in attack, but have still opted to omit tall recruit Jeremy Finlayson as one of three changes.
Wingman Xavier Duursma and debutant Josh Sinn have also been axed, with youngsters Jed McEntee and Jackson Mead returning to the 22 and the versatile Sam Mayes in for his first game of the season.
The Crows have been almost as disappointing in their 0-2 start to the year, with their performance against Collingwood sloppy enough to prompt footy director and club great Mark Ricciuto to label it ‘garbage’ on radio during the week.
Captain Rory Sloane is a big loss with an adductor issue, but reigning best and fairest winner Rory Laird returns from a pre-season broken hand.

My original post about clarko is not a cheap shot. And I have no doubt my hawks won’t be on top for too long. I’m a realist . Anyway best of luck

An excellent result (but Swans could have used Dawson on Thursday night, boo-hoo).

That’s not an opinion, it’s a cheap shot, a bit of humility goes a long way. Your teams on top for two weeks and you turn into an ugly winner, good one. You probably like to kick people when they’re down I guess, good for you

Yeah, all good, I love a bit of a pi55 take. Nothing worse than a poor winner though, especially from Melbourne fans, short memories some people

To be honest, I was just messing with ya. It was a tough beat. These Showdowns are always tough. Your boys will still be in the fight.

Not happy. Tipping 1 from 3. PA have some questions to answer.

Oh, he does interviews. But it's him interviewing the club to see if they're worthy of being coached by him rather than the other way around.

Unlike your good self, I've known Disnick for a long time, he has many good opinions

They are generally 50-50 games. I can never pick them.

It's a real shame Travis Boak likely won't get a chance to play in a grand final. I've liked him a long time. Reminds me of Callan Ward at the Giants: a skillful player no doubt, but what makes him special is his efforts. It's a shame neither will likely get to play for a premiership

Conceding two five goal quarters… What happened? Lycett has bad games. O’Brien has good ones. Marshall played well. Wines played well. Not enough friends.

Maybe this might spark the Crows to believe. Showdowns rarely follow the formguide

I'm not happy with the loss, Brendon. I just can't say I'm that torn up because by all accounts it would've happened one day, Ken or no Ken (the miracle, I mean). But as for my focus: From my point of view, sure, we do need change. And calling it out, pointing out our failing is important. But that's only half the battle. If you don't have areas of strength that you can identify and use as a building point, then you're nowhere. Change without reason, and without using those building blocks won't get you anywhere. It'll turn you into us under Primus. That's the case regardless of whether we're heading into a Grand Final or stuck at the bottom of the ladder. You have to find those key moments, performances to use as examples and build around them. Strengths need to be reinforced, weaknesses addressed. If you don't do both, you'll fail to reach where we want to be.

Agree. They get alot of the ball but too often to their detriment. They do alot more short kicking than the opposition. I think they would have been better to run the ball and create quick movement and then kick long to expose Adelaide's high press.
