I'd rather have Howard and pick 10 to be honest.

Maybe Aish might stop in Adelaide to 'visit family' on his way back to Melbourne?

The word is that Jenkins will land at Geelong for a late Pick (and Adelaide could be paying up to $200k for each of the next 2 Years). Not happy Jan!

They will need a high Pick to cover Mead!

Effectively Frampton in Jacobs Out. Jacobs is ageing and finished as the 2nd string ruck. Frampton is young and can play forward (most likely) or in the ruck. Time will tell if he has the goods to make it in the AFL but a good deal for Adelaide.

Gallagher did say that"...if a deal can be done, it won't be until tomorrow." That's a big "IF". It's looking less and less likely that it will happen. Yay!!!

If you can get Jack for 58 it is a steal. Good luck but St Kilda need lower picks 58 is useless more like 38 even Jack is better than that. Like to get Menagola to freo somehow. Saints give Jack and a pick to Geelong.

With the SA boys expected to be teen picks in the draft I'd say they have a sound plan

They picked up 18 though? Didn't They? I think they've got their eyes on someone in the draft

Thanks for joining me on what has easily been the biggest day of the trade period so far. You can find a wrap of the day's action here. Josh Elliott will be back on to carry you through deadline day tomorrow, while I'll be making an appearance on Thursday's Game of Codes podcast episode to break it all down with editor Daniel Jeffrey.

Getting very close to a wrap on today's action. One of the last updates comes from St Kilda list manager James Gallagher, who appears confident deals to get Brad Hill and Dan Butler in and get Josh Bruce and Jack Steven out will eventuate. He did move to water down talk of Blake Acres being involved in the Hill deal, however.

Nup, happy to give up pick 58 for Steven and keep Menegola. And St Kilda is paying part of Jack’s salary still. Very low risk with a chance of high reward. Good job Geelong.

The Bulldogs refused to slide from Pick 13 to 23 in the draft in the big proposed 4 team deal. What about moving down to pick 17? Geelong 17 and 24 – Bulldogs 13 and 32 or Geelong 17 and 37 – Bulldogs pick 13 Geelong would then have 2 consecutive picks @ 13, 14. Stkilda would take pick 24 or pick 32 and 37 for Bruce.

Would still be fairer than what saints tried initially, 2first and acres will be likelier

Darcy Cameron played at full forward at Claremont for 3 years before going to Sydney. Even at Sydney he started as a forward. I'd imagine that will be Collingwood's plan too.

To be fair, Cameron will also be behind Naismith at Sydney when he returns from injury. And going to Collingwood means that if he's not getting a game, he's at least playing in the VFL rather than the NEAFL. Now I think about it, with mid-season drafting now possible, there's an argument to be made that fringe ruckmen are better off on a senior VFL list than a senior AFL list.

If GWS keep going to the draft with early picks then it is inevitable that this will build salary cap pressure. They keep on getting early picks when they shed players but it would make more sense to use some of these picks to trade with other clubs and get good players on contracts closer to the norm.
