Fresh off a thumping win, the Geelong Cats look to continue their run against the Carlton Blues at GMHBA Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:40pm (AEST).
Despite suffering a five-goal loss in Round 1, Geelong came out of isolation in red-hot form, putting in a ten-goal to one second half against arch-rivals Hawthorn to claim a huge 61-point win. With more games at their proper home ground of GMHBA Stadium this season, they’ll look to use their imperious home advantage to the fullest.
It’s been a tale of two halves for Carlton so far this season. After falling behind badly in the first half against both Richmond and Melbourne, they’ve fought back furiously in both matches but still fallen short. If they can sort out their slow starts, they’ll be a tough team to beat.
The Cats have an excellent recent record against the Blues, claiming ten of the last 11 encounters and 15 of 18 since 2005. This will be their third straight meeting at Kardinia Park after having not met at the ground between 1997 and 2018.

lol, Jack Henry took ages to pick up the ball and stopped to admire the scenery before trying to kick the ball, Eddie couldn't believe his luck. Jack Henry and Mark Blicavs are athletes not footballers. You don't want them anywhere near the ball when the pressure is on.

I think you are right about the attitude of the Geelong players thinking they could win without the effort. Also Chris Scott's loose zone was back in force again allowing Carlton to play uncontested football for large chunks of the game. Hawkins body language was woeful for the first 3 quarters. He complained when he got even minor attention in marking contests. Rather than having a go and trying to halve the contest he would just shirk out of it. Also he kept playing from behind and pushing his opponent in the back. The umpires were all over it. Dangerfield was off and his poor disposal is a problem. His reflexes seem to operate independently of his mind like that quick handball to a Carlton player that led to a goal. He'll get in space and run at a hundred miles and hour but scrub the kick at the end of it. He needs to back off the pace for a few steps before he kicks the ball.

The umps tried hard to give Geelong the game but they still weren't good enough.

They are ordinary just as Clarkson said the other week too any old and slow guy's in there.

I think the coach and all the big heads like Dangerfield, Sellwood, Hawkins and Ablett thought all they had to do was run on the field and it was all over. But they forgot that they are all old slow men now and it's the slide down the table for them. GO BLUES. GO EDDIE YOU BEAUTY.

That Eddie tackle at the end seemed like it was in slow motion. Just lurking, waiting, knowing it would happen. Beautiful.

Birdie, a big thank you to your club for trading Pittonet to us. I know Clarkson was disappointed to let him go but they knew he deserved to be playing senior footy but couldn’t put him ahead of Big Boy & Ceglar. He has been in our best players in his first 2 games & will only get better.

Old teammates at the Crows too I think! Gee that would have been an ugly win if the Cats got up. I though they played quite terrible but congrats to the Blues!

So much for only being good against the bottom teams!

Eddie kicked a couple and directly assisted in a few more.

Music to my ears Col. That forward line has too much talent not to be dangerous (JSOS for Lang not doubt helped) - the more they pay together the better they will get.
