Good Friday footy returns as the North Melbourne Kangaroos and Western Bulldogs face off at Marvel Stadium. Stay up to date with their AFL clash with live scores on The Roar from 4:20pm (AEDT).
The early fortnight went just about as badly as expected for North Melbourne, who’ve suffered back-to-back hammerings against Port Adelaide and Gold Coast. The Suns loss last week was particularly dispiriting and served as a stark reminder as to just how far off the pace the Kangaroos look to be this season – and it doesn’t get any easier tonight.
The Bulldogs are coming off a scintillating seven-point win over the Eagles last week in a game that will take some beating as match of the year. With two hard-fought wins against quality opposition, the Dogs will look to further press their claims as a premiership force by flexing their muscle over the wooden spoon favourites.
The Bulldogs enjoyed a comfortable 49-point win when these sides met last year and have won five of the last seven encounters. The Doggies have won three in a row at Docklands Stadium, whereas the Kangas have dropped four straight.
Opening bounce: 4:20pm (AEDT)
Venue: Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
TV: Fox Footy, Seven (except QLD, SA)
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go
Betting: Bulldogs $1.07, Kangaroos $8.50 (odds via PlayUp)

1989 or ‘90 I believe, a real upset as I recall.

Haha. Yeah, not sure why but I seem to have ended up with more than my fair share. It can be occasionally entertaining like this afternoon ;)

North couldn’t pull a crowd when they were winning games. Now they don’t look like winning at all the end for this club is nigh. It’s a shame for what has been a very innovative club over the last 50 years.

Good win for the Dogs but expect to see a lot of margins like this when North are involved.

Haha could be a chapter or two yet in this story for both teams. I haven’t been brave enough to check the last time the tiges won at kardinia park.

This can’t be true, nobody has mates who support North.

May you never recover. Cats saw the demise of a couple of your coaches. Shame they didn’t do Hardwick. Good revenge.

Part of me thinks the best thing for Tassie would be a completely new team simply because 18 teams is slightly inconvenient. But I don't think they can afford another two clubs to support haha.

As a supporter of another Afl Team I would still like to see Collingwood win the 2021 Wooden Spooner. but sadly I think North Melbourne will challenge them for it. but the cold pies winning by miles the Wooden Spoon.

I think the real question might be what the people of Tasmania will get as compensation!

True but I think things would have to get substantially worse for North, we'd have to start mentioning them in the same breath as the old Fitzroy Lions, Brisbane Bears, or South Melbourne, or even University before I'd be concerned about them.

With that twenty goal win Bulldogs go 0.1% ahead of Port. If Port beat Eagles by the bookies' margin of 3 points, not that they will, and the Tigers beat the Swans by 35pts plus, not that they will, Port could be third by Saturday evening. More likely the Eagles will win and Port drop to third anyway, behind either the Tigers or the Swans. Looking forward to some better games. Imagine Bruce kicking ten! We obviously need a better class of rabble.

Yes, true. I still haven’t quite recovered. But going through the cats for flags 3 times in four years is helping.
