The ladder-leading Port Adelaide Power will look to get back on track as they host the struggling Hawthorn Hawks at the Adelaide Oval. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:35pm (AEST).

Port had a three-game winning run snapped in emphatic fashion, going down to Geelong by 60 points despite the Cats coming off just a four-day break. With big question marks now emerging over the Power’s ability to knock off the top sides, Ken Hinkley will be demanding a strong response today.

The Hawks have been competitive over the last fortnight, but back-to-back losses have made it six defeats in seven matches. Well and truly out of the running, Hawthorn fans will be looking for good performances by the kids as they limp towards 2020’s finish line.

The Power have dropped their last two meetings with the Hawks, but had won three of four prior to that. They’re 3-1 at the Adelaide Oval this season and while Hawthorn’s record at the venue is a strong 5-3, it’s only 1-3 when playing Port Adelaide.

A.T.B.A.V.T. mate, nothing to do with the Hawks per se, may they R.I.P. wherever they land on the ladder.

It still hurts, hey Angela? The Hawks may sit one spot above the Swans again this year, too.

Phew. Can't believe we won kicking like that. The umpiring was a bit dodgy, but still, we should have put the Hawks away much earlier and dominated the last, we just keep letting ourselves down. Won't be doing much damage in the finals if we continue to be the second least accurate team in the league. Hawks had been given a rev during the week clearly.

You are going hard with Pete. He is alright. Mind you he told me that I did the worst post ever on Roar last week.

From what I’m hearing Pete is never wrong! A mistake? An illusion?

Did Stratton try pinching Dixon? What happened there?

Apparently 14-0 in the second half. If that’s true it’s phenomenal, and questions should be asked.

Not questioning the dodginess of the umpiring, but for a comparison, how many frees to Port? I don't have access to stats close at hand

I was a Port believer for a while but now I agree with you

If I were a hawks fan, based on what my team served up in the first half of the year I would be deilighted with the endevour and willingness to run hard and move the ball quickly, but still frustrated by the loss. If I were a Port fan, I would still be happy that we won, but combine this result with last week and there are maybe just a few doubts creeping in for the first time. Still a positive that they could win against a side that took it up to them though. Perhaps one of those rare compromise games with something for everyone, and some issues for everyone as well.

Committed? Tick Composed? Mostly Clean? In Patches Lycett, Powell-Pepper and umps critical in that last qtr but most of the Port players did their bit pressure-wise. Clarko has something to work with from here. Port will be competitive in finals but TBH I can't see a flag in 2020 for them.

It's becoming a joke Birdman, you usually get rewarded when your putting your body on the line but only one team did tonight. If the umps had a stall selling free kicks the Hawks wouldn't be able to buy one.
