Max King is back for St Kilda just in time for a must-win clash with Carlton that could put the loser’s finals hopes in major jeopardy. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 3:20pm (AEST).

The Saints just keep clinging to their place in the eight, with consecutive wins over North Melbourne and Hawthorn allowing them to remain in fifth; however, with a tough run ahead including a final-round trip to the Gabba to face Brisbane, they might need to upset the red-hot Blues to keep it for finals.

King’s return, along with that of Bradley Hill, from injury is a badly needed boost, especially given the Blues’ injury list has only gotten worse with Adam Cerra and Mitch McGovern joining the casualty ward. Nevertheless, Michael Voss’ team have won six games in a row, could hardly be playing better, and can maintain their game gap inside the eight with another victory today.

Looking at the teams we all have to beat for the perfect 3/3 you need to beat Dees & the Dogs need to beat the Hawks disregarding the dogs final game against the Cats at the Cattery. It really annoys me the fact we could play our bogey team twice in a row . Last game at the Cattery & a follow up in Elimination Final at the Cattery. Exhausting worst case scenario.

Whoever wins the last 3 plays Adelaide in elimination final or you could play the Cats. Not a bad option according to Doc they would prefer to avoid you in a final.

Carlton have beaten 2top 2 sides- now with Melbourne entering that space- no reason why Carlton-cannot add another top 2 scalp. What a game next Saturday night will be- the dees hurt blues late last yr-time for some ramen. Go blues .

Happier with this sim than last week, it looked for all money a repeat of recent games against the Saints, we waste our chances, they take theirs and then strangle us into submission before breaking the game open - but this time we found a response and more importantly it wasn’t Cripps or Curnow putting on their superman cape “the plodders” stood up and turned the game our way and while it took time for the scoreboard to turn we maintained the rage for a long time

Best win by Carlton since defeating Port Adelaide for Kade Simpson 250th. Newman sublime, Paddy I didn't think he was capable and young Ollie Holland's. Great to see the lesser lights contribute in a major way. Must mention TDK as well. But a great team effort.

Cats have those vulnerable teams in the coming weeks. 8 point games in their last two matches.
