Sorry Ed, you were cancelled. As for Port Adelaide, it is their right to wear the uniform THEY chose. Collingwood as a club should be cancelled if they keep on with this bitter and twisted stance.

It's not Port Adelaides original jumper, the prison bars came 10 years after Collingwoods black and white stripes. Also, a contract is a contract - so it's not time to move on just coz 'feels'

Ed's entitled to say his piece. He's always going to be a passionate Pies man. He will continue to have a presence and an influence but a new board will move on to be bigger than the broad church that Eddie genuinely wanted, but Ed won't be the Pope! Port were my team in the SANFL days. I've always felt fine Port wearing their prison bar stripes in the AFL, and shouldn't really have a negative impact on the Pies. Collingwood and Port had a strong mutually supportive connection prior to the VFL evolving into the AFL. And I feel we sort of owe Port one for knocking off the Lions in 2004, meaning Pies are still the greatest team ever in the history of the football universe. So long as Pies always have the black and white stripes, what it matter? We need to focus on our own outfit looking the best it can. Having said that, Koschy is not my cup of tea at all so it's sort of satisfying watching him carry on like a 2 bob watch about nothing. More importantly a lot of the hype around away jumpers is exactly that. Even with my aging eyes I would back myself to easily distinguish Collingwood and North Melbourne jumpers clashing with each other, live or on tv. As I did in the old days on black and white tv. More hype, more spin, more messing with core values of the game, more money in somebody's pocket. Often those away predominantly white jumpers look soulless, no character, no connection to club or history, and unnecessary.

Not for a while at least Brendon. We need some clear air. As for the Pies alternative jumper I offer black with white stripes or white with black stripes. Job done.

What do we think Collingwood fans? You want Eddie to come back? Apparently he can whenever he wants

Port will play in the prison bar jumper, just not against Collingwood. It is just a matter of time. Alternative strips are commonplace in all major competitions.

Still can't understand why Collingwood changed to the majority black jersey???

I know. I'm just a fan of dark stripes in the middle looking better than white. Like North. Always look better with the blue stripe in the middle. I blame that for the current malaise, nothing to do with footy. Collies obviously took note and had the old black stripe back in the middle last night.

Nobody is stopping Port Adelaide from embracing their heritage. The SANFL club still remains as the Magpies, featuring the famous "prison bars" jersey. PAFC knew what was required of them, and agreed to those conditions, when they accepted their AFL license in 1996. Why is this all of a sudden an issue in the year 2021???!!

And why shouldn't they take a mile, don't we want strong clubs in the AFL? I don't see how Port embracing their heritage has a negative affect on anything...

Because Ed knows that PA agreed to enter the AFL on the condition they weren't allowed the SANFL Magpies & black & white stripe identity. He's 100% correct in this.

Guess what? PA aren't wearing their original SANFL jumper or even original colour combination. Collingwood actually clearly outdate PA as a club that has black & white stripes!

I just like a dig at the Vics. I think there could be some compromise. I do understand Pedro's position but wouldn't go to the parapet for it. I do try to respect individual teams but "Victoria" as a notion, idea, actuality, miasma, thought, entity l go for the jugular.

Where'd'ya go? ------ My fave was getting away from the cops in VW Beetles. We also threw potatoes, etc at V8s to get em to chase us. They had no idea that Beetles are Parkour Champions. Gatecrashing religious festivals and drinking their grog was fun. East End Market was a wonderful source of food and as no-one was in attendance we never paid. You might have called it "A Day on the Green"

Come on Rowdy! What if a new club was to enter the SANFL called the Magpies and a black & white striped design....are Port Adelaide letting that happen? I support Collingwood 100% and I don't really like them or the arrogant vics in general. But at the end of the day PAFC knew the premise of their AFL license revolved around creating a whole new identity for that side.

It's the fact that they knew their AFL identity wasn't allowed to revolve around the SANFL Magpies & black & white stripe "prison bar" design. Now clearly if they're given an inch they'll take a mile, as many people (such as myself) suspected. And for the record, I'm from WA, don't support Collingwood, but absolutely agree with Collingwood here. Their AFL license was based on the premise they'll create a new identity for the AFL side.
