I feel sorry for him and think he has been tricked into this by the bizarre VFL culture where coward punching is "tough". This genuinely might be the first time he's done anything against someone his own height and the last person nearing 50 I saw in a fight won but developed recurring blackouts immediately. He ran away to Stawell when he realised who Sonny was 10 years ago. Now the almost 50 year old VFL player formerly employed to coward punch shorter people looking the other way or lying down, and who was knocked down and soundly beaten by a League player nearly a foot shorter than him, is going to try again. My guess is just like his "come back" 2 years ago, Sonny won't train and it drags on. Sonny could be getting paid the same amount as the prize money anyway so he won't care. He is drawing 2 codes, half the country and NZ and Pacific Islands viewers. Hall can't do anything to Sonny's but can run backwards for 7 rounds and tire him out.

It's an embarrassment for boxing Phil. I only ever watch real boxers in big fights, like Australia's latest world champion George Kombosos, not over the hill ex football players looking for an earner as Arfur Daley used to say.

One time Boxing was a great sport with highly skilled combatants dominating the main events. Nowadays it is old retired has been footy players of sorts, one who was noted for his king hits, another famous for walking out on his club and another for telling us how tough he is for the last twenty years or so. We saw what happened when Gallen fought a real boxer in Justis Huni. Huni carried him for nine rounds to get some valuable ring time before putting Gallen to bed. BTW, can anyone explain why this topic is on the RL pages?

Barry Hall would better doing Pantomine in the UK? Plays the villain in AFL ,but wouldn’t last two minutes in League. Anybody with ounce of Boxing sense would admit Gallen won that fight “hands down”, which is much as what Hall did most of the fight.. I notice Channel 7 we’re rather put out by a NRL player winning the SAS challenge. I now notice “ Numb Nuts “ now playing action man.
