Cheating? What is going on in Australia with this interpretative hindsight of fans? He's a bloody good actor to hide his intent to cheat, by stumbling around! No discussion by umpires as to whether they thought he had control, so.........catch it is!
No, I’ll pay that as a catch. He just did one of those offhand flicks back towards the umpire that just came off clumsily. There was no lack of control that prompted him to do that. Not wise though.
If that was a catch that was going to help decide an Ashes series, all hell would've broken loose.
That it was the last wicket in the first innings of a Shield game in Wollongong, off the bat of a guy most of us have never heard of, means little was made of it.
Still a very ordinary decision though.
That is ridiculous. I love Marnus so much I call him Loveschagne and I'm Queenslander but that is prolly even less of a catch than when Herschel Gibbs dropped the 1999 world cup.
Well there you go, well done Roar :stoked:.
That is not a catch, he did not have control of it when he disposed the ball. But happy for QLD to get the wicket, makes up for the baffling decision to bowl first.

He didn't have control of his bodily movements.

It looked like one of those offhand flicks towards the umpire they do after completing a catch sometimes, but came off rather clumsily.

Could still potentially have decided a place in the shield final though, or even hosting rights ...

I don't think that can legitimately be deemed a catch.

Could you imagine the carry on if Marnus had been given out like that?

The ball popped out because his hand hit his thigh in the process of completing a catch. No catch.

He had no control of anything.

The replay shows him having control of the ball but not his bodily movements. Why would he toss it like that at that point?
