The Cronulla Sharks will look to shore up their spot in the top eight against the lowly Gold Coast Titans at Kogarah Oval. Join The Roar for live scores from 3pm (AEST).
Despite pushing Parramatta all the way last week, the Sharks fell just short and instead of knocking on the door of the top four, find themselves precariously balanced in eighth place. A vastly superior for-and-against to ninth-place Manly helps, but Cronulla need to get on the winners’ list quickly.
Finals are almost certainly out of the question for Gold Coast, but they’ve been impressive over the last three weeks and will look to continue their good run of form. After pushing the Panthers and Roosters in gallant losses, they finally broke through last week with a slick 30-10 touch-up of the Cowboys.
The Sharks have taken the points in their last four clashes with the Titans, including a 40-10 demolition on the Gold Coast earlier this season. The Titans haven’t won at Kogarah Oval since 2016, losing on their last two visits, while Cronulla have one win from their three ‘home’ matches this season.
Kick-off: 3pm (AEST)
Venue: Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, Sydney
TV: Fox Sports
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel, NRL Live Pass

Sounds like a bunch of excuses to me, Titans hung in there and did well with twelve. But hey make brash statements and then don’t admit to it when you end up been wrong

They scored 3 tries in 5 mins and put the cue in the rack after that... was pretty disappointing, very flat performance today.

How’d that end up?

Must be something going on behind the scenes like contract anxiety, now they've signed the two high profile forwards. Sad way for Proctor to go out.

Never cross a picket line, that's why. You name me the last player who grassed on another in a tribunal hearing...

Well, that's a load of apologist crap. He has a bottom set of teeth too.

Stupid of Proctor. He's about as good a team man as that 2nd rower from Brisbane. If this allegation goes to the judiciary it will be a tough job proving it without Johnson's word which he has indicated won't happen. The video shows Proctor's mouth touching Johnson's arm but does not show any teeth having contact which constitutes a bite. All I could see was a mouthguard and unless there is other vision that's all the judiciary will see also.

Well I think Proctor's team mates should be very dirty on him. He really was the cause of this loss. What was he on today?

There are some people who either can't or won't understand no matter how simple the concept. Generally, they don't have much in life and, often, having the last word when they are fighting a losing battle is important to them. It's yours for the taking champion.

Yeah but a moment of madness building for most of the game. Was playing like an angry ant. He was frustrated from the opening whistle, complaining when strip calls weren’t going his way, or when called back as the ref had called held. Even had a verbal with a winger. Strange mindset for your 250th.

I think he doesn’t want to say anything further to damage his mate, in the heat of the moment on the field, 12 all, game on the line his reaction is exactly what it was to being bitten.

Thanks for going slowly champ... your poor choice of original words, not mine so maybe be a little less ignorant next time.

Sad to see Kevin Proctor lost his head. I reckon he was so pumped up, and frustrated for bombing that try, that he had a brain explosion. Sad way to go out in your 250th game. Just a moment of madness.

Johnson now saying that nothing happened? So why complain to the ref in the first place?

Having said that, I don't cop the 'out of character' comments, if he did it, it's in his character, simple as that

Awkward watching the fox team trying to get something out of Johnson about the bite, he has answered the same question 3 times and they kept on going on about it, leave it alone.
Nat

Johnson doing his best to gloss over Proctor but he's boned.

I'll go slowly...... 1. There's no defence for Proctor i.e. he deserved to be sent off for biting. 2. While the bite is foul play, it causes relatively little physical damage. 3. Other instances of foul play, that does cause physical damage e.g. head high tackle, should also result in a send off.
