The Penrith Panthers and North Queensland Cowboys will draw Round 10 to a close when they meet at Panthers Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 4:05pm (AEST).

Coming off hitting the half century against Cronulla, the Panthers are looking more and more like premiership contenders, while the Cowboys are clearly anything up. The North Queensland outfit, after putting together a solid opening half-hour against the Roosters, were absolutely obliterated in a meek second-half showing.

Adding to their woes is the injury to star signing Valentine Holmes. While he hasn’t reached his best since joining the club after a shot at the NFL, having a player of his immense talent spending the next two months on the sidelines is not going to help the struggling outfit.

The Panthers have just the one change to the line-up which cruised to last week’s win. Four-try debut winger Charlie Staines is suspended, so Dean Whare comes into the centres and Brent Naden gets pushed out to the wing.

Pretenders. There is only four teams that can win it Roosters, Raiders, Manly and Parra. All the rest are in the Penrith category.

Really proud of the boys today. They gave it a real crack and were desperate in defence. It’s one of the few games we have started with 13 fit players in my opinion. The Panthers left edge has been on fire and the Cowboys have really struggled to not leak points there defensively. It was the difference today. Green has stuck with Masters and Drinkwater all year. Today it was just Masters and the defence all most kept them under 20? Nathan Cleary stepped up and owned that game. I hope my young Cowboys learned a lot from what he did. He just inspired his team and they fed off it to get the win. Fido is a special talent and the Panthers have super talent in the team also.

Not going to give up on Penrith's title chances on the basis of that -- as someone said, it's hard to play spectacular footy every week, and today I think we showed too much respect to the Cowboys and didn't display imaginative attack from our own half as we have in recent weeks. That said, about 4-5 other teams would have finished off the breaks that Naden and Burns botched; I don't think it's our year this year, but top four is a major step forward for sure. It's weird to see Penrith going in to most games as favourites.

Penrith were better than us but that was so much better from us. Positives , Asi showed a bit, Cotter was good when he came on. Clifford kicked well for the most part. Moose gave it all, Nice try from the hammer . Good to see Green try a few things.

A bit raw & rough around the edges, but, a lot to like with the Cowboys today. Defeated; certainly not disgraced.

That's a real shame. We didn't deserve an end like that.

Bad luck Jimmy and the Cows. Really showed up today. Just get some mongrel into your boys, letting a halfback monster your forwards...

Well this has been a good game, if you like scrappy opportunism, but Penrith had a bit of a trials run against the Cows. Good to see the Cows man up.
