The NRL action continues tonight with the match between the Rabbits and Broncos, coming to you from ANZ Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and a blog of the match, starting from 7:55 pm AEST.

At the start of the season, this matchup would have been all about Anthony Seibold and Wayne Bennett after their coach swap a few years ago. However, with the Broncos in dire straits, it’s more about whether the Broncos can end a horrendous run.

The Rabbits missed the start at Kogarah last round but a man of the match performance from Cody Walker sparked a Souths fightback and win over the Dragons. If Walker can maintain that form this week, the Broncos will be in trouble.

South Sydney’s forward pack was much improved last week, allowing Damien Cook to play his best game of the season. Cam Murray also had a big game.

The team list is unchanged for this round, although Adam Reynolds must be in some doubt after going off the field with a burner last week.

Despite losing nine of their last ten matches, Brisbane has improved over the last fortnight against the Storm and Sharks. However, their inability to play out the full 80 minutes has hurt them. They look to have forgotten how to win.

Tom Dearden provided some stability in the halves last week whilst Kotoni Staggs and Herbie Farnworth impressed in the centres. There is still enough talent in this side to win matches. Whether they have the belief to win is another issue.

In a big in for the Broncos, David Fifita will return in the back row. However, Anthony Milford is out with a hamstring injury with Brodie Croft returning. Joe Ofahengaue is back to the bench and Ethan Bullemor drops out of the 17.

Prediction
The Brisbane Broncos will win again the season.

However, to do it against a Rabbits team desperate to stay in the top eight is probably too big an ask.

South Sydney Rabbitohs by 14.

I thought Souths never got out of second gear. The star Bronco pack looked like reserve graders up against Rabbitoh forwards, who have come on in leaps and bounds. The Souths halves put Broncos in the pocket and kept them there. Souths might just make a move towards the title soon.

Yes I know but, these games between the Broncs and the Bunnies always turn out pretty competitive and hard fought, the Bunnies don’t have a good record against the Broncs.

Adam Reynolds scores 16 of the 28 points. Bennett v Seibold. Haha.

We all might have rash words at times but that is generally just passion. Would always be sad to hear of the loss of someone in the Souths or Roar family.

Good teams don’t blame the ref. They find a way to take the bad decisions out the game. Lucky for me we’re crap now. How about those kick chase penalties. Far out!!

A Manly loss, a Bunnies win, and the sweet sound of whinging Queenslanders. Great start to the weekend.

Just absent from active site interaction buddy, hasn’t left the world to my knowledge. But he is here in spirit…he watches, tips and not much else. Sorry to spook you.

The refereeing was kinda poor. There were stretches where Brisbane made metres and a couple breaks that indicate that Brisbane should have been able to test Souths more. But that was so much worse than any of the recent losses. No real heart to it. Turpin seems currently less effective than Paix. Teo and Luke don't spend enough time on the field to justify their spots or - failing that - require questions over their usage. Haas was good. Lodge made ok metres given the return from injury, I guess. But souths are short in the forwards and we did worse that some fringe first graders. Apart from Deardon, some of these guys are playing themselves out of jerseys. If Cody Walker had been on, Souths would have demolished us.

Maybe, but what is the bunker role? to find stuff or look at what the ref asks them to? And they ignore forward passes galore so.. a lot gets ignored. And they were there to judge whether the challenge had legs, nothing else. Unless you are supporting the concept that the bunker actually referees the game, looking at at they can influence when they get called in.

Benny clearly was so confident of beating Seibold that he got suspended on purpose. Get a break in early for his grand dad nap.
