No mate, he lost me …JWH I dropped a heap of respect for the bloke, I thought he was better than that. Yes he plays with passion and I admire him for that but so does Hetherington ….Hopefully there was a text message or something to Hetherington or possibly they caught up in the dressing sheds….but the game was done & dusted.
There is no way in hell that after 53 years I would just walk away from my team over that, :stoked:
:laughing; what happens on the field should stay on the field.
Playing Aussie rules in Melbourne back in the 1960's I got called some pretty nasty stuff by blokes out on the field but we shook hands after the game & had a beer in the dressing sheds......
Yep, I thought better of him. The game was over for starters.....
It was obvious from the way JWH played he had a double dose of angry pills before the game and played like it too.
As far as I am concerned you belt the crap out of each other on the field & shake hands after.
His actions toward Hetherington were totally unnecessary.
As a long time Roosters supporter JWH really upset me yesterday the way he behaved, Yes they did not play well but managed to get the win. It was obvious JWH was not impressed by the overall effort, neither was I However I thought that Jack Hetherington had a great game and deserved a little respect. Jarrod respect is something that if you want it you also have to give it.
Followed the team for 52 years and that was one of the most unsportsmanlike displays I have seen from any Eastern Suburbs / Roosters player. You lost me.
From all accounts this isn't in JWH's usual character. Everyone can have an off day so not going to slam him over it. What is great is these young guns taking it to the old bulls. Young Blore on debut taking it to Nathan Brown. Reminds me of when a young Papalii caught the eye of everyone when he took on old bull Paul Gallen. Great for the game.
JWH will be embarrassed by that today. Hats off to Hetherington - he took it up to JWH on the field - and was willing to shake hands and acknowledge his opponents after the match
He shook his hand? I saw him shake hands.
I dont understand, fans are always bitching about players laughing and joking with the other team after a game now they're bitching about a player not wanting to cuddle and laugh with a player that they don't know and have been going after for an hour. So what do fans want?
Big fan of Hetherington his a bit crazy
JWH is a player that I’ve always had time for throughout his career but yesterday he lost me. I hope he has enough self awareness to reflect on how he should’ve handled himself better.

I don't think JWH snubbed Hetherington at all. There was a greeting but JWH pulled back when Hetherington wanted to put his arm around him. So what?

So you no longer support the club because JWH had a dummy spit that culminated in him not shaking hands? That is the worst thing he could do?

I imagine he will be unless there is something unseen. He did seem overly irate yesterday.

JWH is one of the nicest blokes off the field. Softly spoken and very friendly. But yeah, that seemed pretty uncharacteristic.

Hetherington has said something to JWH and he has taken offence. That’s my take on it.

For someone with JWH rap sheet you’d think he would be a bit more understanding. He gave as good as he got.

Just watched the replay of JWH and JH’s run in Pretty poor form not shaking hands over that I’ve always liked Jack Hetherington

Title favourites beat the hapless warriors and JWH can’t even exercise some humility. Setting a poor example and he deserves a ribbing for it.
